By Rental Car
Day 1

Arrival Santiago de Cuba

After arrival pick up your car at the rental agency at the airport. It is smart to make a reservation on forehand for your rental car. In high and peak season, which are july/August and December through February Cuba does not have enough cars. Reserve your car for this period at least 2 month before your departure to Cuba.

After you've picked up the car, drive to your casa particular or hotel in Santiago de Cuba

Day 2

Santiago de Cuba - Bayamo

Not such a difficult ride for today. Lovely siteseeings like the mountains of Granma Province.
Bayamo is a small city with some interesting historical facts

Day 3

Bayamo - Camaguey

Camaguey is not a simple city to find the address you are looking for, Camaguey is also called The Maze. For more information about this strange city, check out our Camaguey city page

Day 4
&
Day 5

Camaguey - Ciego de Avila - Jardines del Rey

Up to Ciego de Avila, the province close to the lovely keys of Jardines del Rey, Cayo Coco and Cayo Guillermo, with their stunning turqoise sea, white beaches and Flamingos.

Ciego de Avila itself is a little city with some cheap but nice restaurants
You can consider to stay 2 nights at one of the all inclusive resorts at one of the Jardines del Rey Keys

From Ciego de Avila to Morón:
Driving the highway from Ciego de Avila to Morón, for a deviation of the Central Highway you arrive to an important city of the Ciego de Avila province, Morón.

From Morón to Cayo Coco and Cayo Guillermo:
The city of Morón has gained greater significance due to the construction of the highway to Cayo Coco, about 60 km outside the largest island. You can get there either by plane or car.

By earth, a long way on the sea takes you to one of the most beautiful islands in Cuba. It posseses marvelous beaches, typical vegetation, wild fauna like flamingos and a quiet sea.

Cayo Coco and the neighbour island Cayo Guillermo have several luxery resorts to stay: Melia Cayo Coco, Sol Club Cayo Coco, Melia Cayo Guillermo, Sol Cayo Guillermo, Iberostar Daiquirí, The Gaviota Hotel Playa Coco and more ...
Unfortunately you won't find casa particulares on the keys of Jardines del Rey

Day 6

Ciego de Avila - Trinidad

After a day at the beach leave early for the trip to Trinidad.

Day 7

Trinidad

Trinidad city is like anyone would say "A city detained in time", where large houses, cherches and buildings of the XVII, XVIII and XIX can be admired just the way they used to be at that time. It is a beautiful, kind of an alive historical relic, because their new resedents have taken charge of conserving it. It is not a "dull city", but it is vivacious, loquacious, picturesque and really nice.

You can lodge in several casa particulares and hotels: Las Cuevas, Brisas del Mar, Ancón, Costa Sur, the luxery Gran Iberostar Trinidad or the idylic Finca Maria Dolores
In the outskirts of the city you can stay in Topes de Collantes

For dinner we suggest restaurant Sol y Son

Day 8

Trinidad - Cienfuegos

A trip along the coast and the other half through plantations, villages and nature.

The City of Cienfuegos is the most beautiful of the southern coast. It is called La Perla del Sur (The Pearl of the South). The Jagua Hotel is besides Hotel la Union the best place to stay. The city was built with the electic style of the fifties. Its balconies open up toward the Bay of Cienfuegos, of calm and clean waters. There is also another hotel very near the city, the Rancho Luna Hotel, close to the sea.

Day 9

Cienfuegos - Viñales

Through Playa Giron, Guama up to Havana and down to Vinales.
A long, maybe the longest you will have on this vacation>
On the way you can stop at the crocodile farm and the museum of Pigs Bay invasion at Giron

Day 10

Viñales

A lovely little village in an even lovelier valley, surrounded by tabac plantations, nature and the typical Vinales mountains called Mojotes

At night we recommend to enjoy life music and some dancing at Centro Culturo Polo Montanez
