Delivery
to the female tobacco strippers
The stripping
process the same as the majority of the activities to carry out in tobacco
requires great quantity of personnel, but mainly of very high qualification.
For having an idea of the importance of the personnel's preparedness,
next is offered an information on a training plan for the formation of
female tobacco strippers.
Plan of learning
of the tobacco strippers
The plan of learning of a female tobacco stripper lasts 36 days. A woman
sufficiently qualified begins to teach to the future tobacco stripper
the process of ironing tobacco leaves (she takes the leaf of tobacco with
the required humidity and on the stripper bank she opens it with the hands
and she caresses it until the wrinkles of the leaf disappear).
Later on
they learn how to separate the leaves by grades, and after five days they
should already know all the types of leaves and the process of technical
stripping. The technician that controls quality also evaluates the apprentice's
work and the work of the female tobacco strippers in the room.

tobacco is taken to the work place already moistened. |
The
stripping bank
The workers after receiving their bags with the leaves with the required
humidity carry out the work of ironing and a classification that can be
fillers and binders. The stripping process consists on removing half of
the central vein of the leaves reserved for filler; a quarter to those
dedicated for binder while to those for wrapper the vein is removed completely
conforming two bands.

The
cutting process is carried out with a kind of metal fingernail;
then, the vein is pulled with fineness for not breaking the leaf,
then the leaves go to the boards. |
Boards
The leaves with the veins extracted are placed in these boards so that
they conserve their ironing. The height of the quantity of leaves in each
board can be up to 8 cm, and always maintaining its classification, that
is to say a board is used for each grade. In that place they remain until
the other day when they are moved to another department.
Delivery
of the day's works
The day's works of the female tobacco strippers are received here where
they are weighed and barreled according to the grades to be moved to the
phase of process.
