Casa Pipa y Manuel
My review: A delightful stay! We were able to put our bicycles safely in the garage. Pipa and Manuel were wonderful. Pipa called ahead for me to untangle another reservation that I had made earlier. Manuel showed us our room and also the rooftop garden/dining area. They cooked us a delicious dinner and breakfast the next morning...both served in the dining area. After a long day on the road, this was just the best place ever. The rooftop was up high enough that we could see out over the city and enjoy a welcome breeze.
How was your room?: Comfy bed and a nice warm shower. Roomy and so-o-o clean
How was the food they offer?: Excellent, a nice variety of choices for dinner. Breakfast was good, lots of variety, and a real treat, a cup of Baracoa's hot chocolate.

Casa de Pipa y Manuel
Pipa (also known as Delsy) and Manuel rent two rooms in their upper level casa. The rooms have access to a back patio and rooftop terrace. We didnt stay overnight at the casa but treated ourselves to a romantic dinner for two on the rooftop terrace. At our request, Pipa and a friend prepared a classic Baracoa style feast: Black bean soup, fish in coconut sauce, rice, plantain chips, salad, and for dessert, chocolate and strawberry ice cream accompanied by demitasses of coffee. Three people delivered the meal, so service was excellent. The cost for two, including two drinks and tip, was 24 CUCs. The Spanish-speaking family is friendly and flexible enough to accommodate same-day requests for a special dinner. Call in the morning or a day or two in advance if theres anything in partic! ular youd like to order.
