Casa Alberto y Melba

My review: We had a great stay at Alberta and Melba's casa. Very friendly people and very laid back. Good facilities and tasty food. If we visit Cuba again we will drop by for certain.

Casa Alberto y Melba

My review: My boyfriend and I just had a great vacation, travelling alone for almost a month. In November 2012, we went to Cuba for the first time and we were lucky enough to have three weeks to spend in this beautiful country. We had only one problem ~ we had booked only our first night upon arriving in Varadero and our last 4 nights before we were leaving, again in Varadero (at an all inclusive).

A new friend in Vancouver, Canada (where we are from) gave us the contact information for Alberto and Melba. We were so lucky to get that information!!! We went directly to their casa when we arrived in Havana and even though they did not have a room for the week we were spending there, they were kind enough to introduce us to their friend...who had an apartment for rent, right on the Malecon! It was beautiful!

When we were leaving Havana, we went back to Alberto and Melba to thank them for helping us find someplace to stay in the city. When we told them we were headed to Vinales, they contacted a friend there, and we had our next casa set up! And that was another spectacular find!!

We ended up, upon returning to Havana a week later, spending a couple of nights in Alberto and Melba's home ~ besides being a wealth of information about the city, its attractions, restaurants and so on, their home it beautiful, the food is great and the location is so central to everything. We have referred them to friends and will stay with them when we're back in Havana again for sure!

How was your room?: The room was very comfortable with a big patio and a fantastic view. We had a private bathroom with shower.
How was the food they offer?: Breakfasts were plentiful and very tasty ~ eggs cooked to one's liking every day!
Other comments: Melba and Alberto are very helpful with finding your way around Havana and they know much about other areas in Cuba too. Their English is good and their home is very welcoming. We'd recommend them to anyone spending time in Havana!

Casa de Alberto y Melba

My review: This was our first family vacation and we wanted not only to relax and enjoy, but also truly experience the local culture and gain an appreciation of the Havana way-of-life...Melba and Alberto's casa gave us a great base from which to start each morning's adventure and to return to every evening, clean, comfortable, safe, helpful...their family made us feel at home, welcome and cozy, the meals were delicious and plentiful...the location is very convenient, and the terrace is an extra special treat for spectacular views, ocean air and delightful conversations.

Alberto & Melba

My review: Very nice casa located on a great location in Havana. Lovely and warm family. Our room had a balcony located on the street. Breakfast was good. Definitely recommended!
