My review: This is a place that will stay in my memory for years and years. We stayed here for five nights and would have liked to stay longer.
The location is great - this casa is on reasonably tranquil street but just a short walk to the main street in town and a short walk the other way to be out in the country. From the backyard there's a splendid view of farms and hills. The rooftop dining terrace offers more views.
Service is fantastic and includes extra 'surprises'. The staff speak Spanish but that was fine with my beginner Spanish which they were pleased to assist with. Arianna is an outstanding host who exemplifies the casa's motto that her home is your home.
The breakfasts and dinners are plentiful and delicious. The only risk is eating too much. Even the so-called 'small' breakfast is huge.
There are two units. We got the one in a separate building, which I think is larger and includes enough of a kitchen to prepare some food in but why bother with all that Arianna and her assistant Melisa have to offer. The complex also includes one or two more units at the front which you may want to inquire about if the the Sorpresa units are booked. Arianna and Juan Carlos have also started another casa particular on the other side of town; it is not such a convenient location but I think has splendid views.
This place goes beyond hospitality. 'Mi casa es su casa'
How was your room?: Spacious and clean.
How was the food they offer?: Abundant. We ate here for every breakfast and dinner. Meals started exactly on time. I recommend the fish dinner and the vegetarian dinner with peppers.

My review: We had the most wonderful time in Vinales, staying for three nights at Buena Aventura Hostal.
This is a new casa run by Juan Carlos y Arriana who also own Casa de la Sorpresas.
The casa is gorgeous, modern and new with all the amenities you need including lovely air conditioning and a fantastic shower. It is a little out of town (still within walking distance) meaning that it is quieter, with a lovely patio where you can watch the stunning view and life pass you by.
Juan Carlos y Arriana organised massages, horseback riding, laundry, tips on local sights.
I would not stay anywhere else!

How was your room?: Perfect. Brand new, spacious, modern and comfortable. Super quiet over night.
How was the food they offer?: A+!
Lovely food and LOTS of it! We had different dishes for dinner each night, catered to both meat eaters and vegetarians.
Breakfast was plentiful and yum!

My review: We were the luckiest because we were able to call the day before we traveled to viñales and they still had room - we definitely wouldn't want to have missed this place- staying there with Elia, Pedro and Ariadna was having a family away from home. We were warmly welcomed and had great rooms: in my room 2 2person beds with a small bathroom (need a little fudgeting to get to the right temp) and airco. We also did a 6 hour walking tour with juan Carlos (if I remember correctly) where we really got to experience the beauty of Cuba. It was only a short walk to the Main Street but the house itself was in a quiet end of one of the side streets which was just perfect. One of the two nights we had dinner there as well- really good fish and chicken, just be sure you are hungry because portions are huge!
Staying with Pedro and Elia was one of the top experiences in Cuba and would definitely recommend it to anyone!!
How was your room?: Each of our rooms had 2 2person beds. Quite small rooms with a private bathroom, so if you have very big luggage there won't be a lot of leeway- with 2 65L backpacks you'll manage well. Beds were really comfy and air condition was more than welcome! One of the rooms had a fridge where water and drinks were stocked (you do pay for it). Outside the room there is room to sit and chill.
Overall super comfy and didn't need anything else!
How was the food they offer?: Breakfast is fruit, 2 eggs and then bread with cheese and ham. Lunch is a semi-grilled him and cheese sandwich and for dinner they have the traditional Cuban cuisine- chicken or fish. Portions are quite big so you don't need any (or at least less) snacks!
Other services they offer: They have different tours - the 6 hours hike was one of them. After that we wanted to rent a bike (they didn't have any anymore) and did the extra effort to find alternatives- unfortunately everything was already rented out. They did advise us to take a tour with the cab- which we did and was great.
Other comments: Overall one of the best experiences in Cuba, to have that interaction with Elia and Pedro. I became sick and they did everything to help me, even helping with local products when I left.
Just take your time to relax and have a chat with them and take a nice siesta when u need one!

My review: Very kind people. Ariadna (your host) speaks a little bit english. She does everything to make your stay as pleasant as possible, and she succeeds. Nice clean rooms. Every room has a terrace and a table where breakfast is served.
How was your room?: Clean and pleasant.
How was the food they offer?: We only had breakfast. The breakfast was good and sufficient. Coffee, fruit, bread, juice, eggs and everything you require. Rico!
Other services they offer: They know a lot of people in the area. They arranged a horseride as well as some bikes. They help you where necessary, calling cabs, do laundry, they even cleaned our shoes and didn't charge anything!
Other comments: when we where at the casa, they brought us all kind of drinks (form juices to cocktails), again not charged.

My review: A nice, charming casa with extremely helpful and hospitable people. We felt immediately welcome. It's a beautiful big room with a big roof terrace. The casa is very centrally located and has a great view over the city. The breakfast is great and the dinner is excellent! Ariane and Carlos are 2 beautiful people and they gave us many surprises. Cocktails, sandwiches, chicharita's. It was great! Carlos offered also a walking tour and taught us a lot about the fauna and flora in Vinales. They also arranged some excursions for us. We really enjoyed our stay here! If we get the chance to ever go back to Vinales, we definitely will stay here again.

My review: Highly recommended! Beautiful casa in a great location near the city center. Lovely and spacious room, airconditioned, bathroom is well equipped with hot and cold water and a decent flow, everything is very clean. Breakfast and dinner are delicious, as well as the surprise cocktails.The hosts are very warm and welcoming and will give you all the help and information you need, and lots more - hence the name.

My review: Our favorite bed & breakfast in Cuba: We have had a most agreable stay in Viñales in April 2015, staying during the 4 nights in the bed & breakfast Casa de las Sorpresas, under the good care of our hosts Adriana and Juan Carlos. Everything was perfect. The friendly hosts made us feel very welcome at all times. The breakfasts and supper they served us were delicious, consistant, varied and affordables. Our hosts were always very attentive to our needs. We have also appreciated our conversations with Pedro, who even came to greet us when we arrived in town by bus.

Casa de las SorpresasMy review: Arriana y Juan Carlos are definitely the best hosts in Cuba. They are caring, honest & friendly people. They go out of their way to make your stay special. There are 2 double beds in the room, air-conditioning, fridge and all what you will need. There is also lovely garden and New roof terrace with great view of the mountain. The casa and rooms are spotlessly clean, comfortable & very cozy. The delicious food served here is prepared with fine and fresh ingredients and beautifully presented. Juan Carlos studies English and soon he will be able to have full conversation in English :). How was your room?: specious and comfotable
