Mrs. Maestra Maria by profession, working as Environmental Specialist Viñales National Park, like to talk in English about many topics of interest to the guest and teaches Spanish, salsa music and the promotion and development of drinks and delicious dishes of the traditional Cuban cuisine, she is fond about the exclusive nature of the area, as well as in helping and organizing tours such as hikings and horseback riding. The man of the casa also speaks Russian and rent himself as a taxi driver to beautiful beaches north and south of the province Pinar del Rio and other places of interest.

My review: I really cannot express enough gratitude on behalf of these great people as Maria and Pedro are. They are new to the business - if I remember correctly they are doing this for 5 years, but they totally understand what their guests need and act accordingly. Their priority is your own happiness. Although this may seem as natural in tourism, in Cuba, this is not always the case. We've been travelling around Cuba for 2 weeks, staying in 6 casa particular and 2 hotels, and none of them - even the hotels - beat the positive experience which we gained in this casa. Maria is such a darling. She used to be a teacher, she can explain things very well, and even though her english might not be perfect, she always tries her very best to get the meaning through and there really was no language barrier. Her next quality is that she is very caring - it kind of gave me a feeling of visiting my own parents. They make sure you are not hungry, you have everything you need, you are fed, you know where to go and what to do. And the dogs...I loved them!
How was your room?: Nice and clean
How was the food they offer?: Great food. Maria is a great cook. We arrived with one of our friends feeling sick to his stomach from the food in Havana, and Maria cooked special dinner just for him to help cure him. And it worked - the next day he felt like a newborn. Before we left, Maria wrote down all her recipes and it helped us to remember this happy family even at home when we threw Cuban party for our friends.
Other services they offer: Maria helped us to arrange our trips - in Vinales and also our future trips. She is a great manager and she gets all the contacts you need as she knows where to look. She is a kind of person you want to know when you go to places you've never been before and you have a language barrier. She literrally was our eyes and ears and helped to fulfill all our dreams. Pedro, her husband did not speak english but he spoke Russian and made us feel very welcome too. We had some issues when we were renting the car and he helped with everything. Even though we were supposed to have gone already as they were expecting another clients, they helped us with all the issues, looked after us, so that the agency wont rip us off and fix the problem. He was our own personal bodyguard.

My review: Maria gave us a very lovely and welcoming home during our stay in Vinales.
Picked us up from the bus (which is nice because than you will not get stalked by other people), arranged our horse and salsa trips and was really friendly and patient with our limited Spanish and her limited English.

How was your room?: Clean and comfortable.

How was the food they offer?: Extensive dinner and breakfast (delicious).

Other comments: House is located in the city center and on a main road. Walking distance of everything though traffic will pass the house.

My review: We stayed here for a few nights in February 2014 with my friend and were both very satisfied with everything. Viñales is a very beautiful and peaceful place where everything is close. Pedro and María are the most welcoming and kindest hosts and they helped us in every possible way whatever we needed. María who has been working/is working in the national park also arranged us a tour guide she knows herself to take us for a 3 hours hike in the park. We really liked this trip. We also recommend you to eat dinner here at this casa since the food is really good and the portions are huge. Maybe even a bit too much for us. :) We would really recommend this casa and would definately stay here again if we ever got back to Viñales.
