Casa Benito
My review: We spent a marvelous time at Casa Benito, where we felt like at home. Benito and his wife made the impossible to facilitate our vacations in Viņales, as we were traveling with a one-year-old baby. They fixed everything for us: they built up a baby bed, prepared special meals for her, washed her clothes. I was impressed how friendly and discreet they were. It is rare to find both of these qualities at the same time.
The rooms are clean and wonderfully furnished. With airco if needed. Warm water. And quietness.
I definitely recommend this place to stay for some days or only one night. It's probably one of my best experience ever.

Villa Benito
My review: Four of us stayed for less than $100.00 US. One night, three outrageous meals and air conditioning at night. Very friendly and you can feel as if part of the family. The town was pleasant and the sights incredible. I will be going back again!!
Casa specifics: Fantastic hosts, Comfortable, Cozy, Garden, Children in the house, Patio

How was your room?: Big enough for two to share comfortably. Nice bathroom, hot and cold water.
How was the food they offer?: I could not have asked for more. We ate traditional Cuban cuisine..seafood, fresh fruits and vegetables...the beer was pretty good as well! More than enough to eat and all of it very tasty.
Other services they offer: Access to eco-reserve with horseback riding and guided tours of the reserve. Beautiful mountains surround the area and there are caves to explore.
Other comments: Town was typical of Cuba outside of the cities. People were very friendly, warm and accepting. Prices are very reasonable.

My review: Me and my sister stayed there 3 nights and would habe loved to stay longer, because of this absolutely warm and welcoming people who have been so attentive to all our needs and wishes.
They offer two rooms with kingsize beds with independent entrance in a quiet street not far from the center of Vinales (5 min. walk) They dont't have a roof terrace, but a cosy garden with plants and tables outside. The room and the bathroom a clean and comfortable, not very big though.
Best of all is the family, benito and Margalis, their little doughter Lorena and grandma. They all look aftre you in any way,pay a lot of attention to whatever you might need and they are really heartily people.
They cook very good, we got Lobster and shrimp for dinner- only needed to express our wishes, fresh fruits and juices for breakfast, eggs in whatever style we liked (Tortilla with vegetables and so on. They where helpful with tips about the sorroundings, are able to offer salsa lessons and tours into the valleys.
We had other comfortable casas later on during our journey, but these family has been the most welcoming and heartily place we stayed.
Because of them we also have been invited to a very special Cuban family party- the "Quinze", a very important fiesta and ceremony in a Cuban girls life when she becomes fifteen. So really got in touch with Cuban way of life, didn't feel so much tourists anymore.

How was your room?: Our room was not very big, but clean, cozy and with big beds. Indipendent entrance, but with face to the gardenside, the middle of the family life. Clean towels and whatever you want is offered
Cost for the night is from 20 to 25 CUC
How was the food they offer?: Very good. They will always provide what you wish, from vegetables, fruits to meat, chicken and fish in whatever style you want to have it cooked.If you don't ask for special things, tehy just do their own way. But if you ask for a tortilla with vergetables for breakfast they do it and it has been all tasty and excellent.
Cost for breakfast is from 3 to 5 CUC, lunch or dinner varies from 8 to 12 CUC. They will always provide you with some more coffee or juice or water without charge.
Other services they offer: They provide Salsa teachers, tourguides, worthy tips and lot of attention.
Of course they do provide laundry service.
Other comments: Their daughter has been three years old, cute girl- no annoyance, no noise. It can be nice for families with children their, because they could play in the garden all together.
If you want to know more about Cuban way of life and are not only looking for a comfortable high end place, we can highly recommend. |
