Villa Leibys y Papito El Zapatero

My review: good room, good views and good food.
The house is not very central, which is good because then it's quiet and has amazing views of the "mogotes" (the mountains from Viñales). There's a big patio where you can have a drink, read, or relax just looking at the mountains. (and anyway it's only 5min walking to the center of viñales, it's not a big town). Laibys and Papito are nice and helpful.

(Unfortunately it's not possible to use the pool anymore - the government made them close it.)

we had a good stay, we'd go back again, I recommend this casa particular

How was your room?: the room was very comfortable, with A/C, fan, fridge, bathroom with shower...
How was the food they offer?: the best breakfast!! pancake, fruit, eggs, juice, coffee...
Dinner was nice as well.
Other services they offer: they help you organize activities (we did horseriding for example), they help also reserving colectivos to your next destination

Villa Leibys and Pepito

My review: This is a really nice casa, the room was perfect, the food was delicious and Leibys did everything possible to make our stay enjoyable. There is a small pool in the garden which our son loved. The view from the patio was amazing looking out over the mogotes. My son had his 12th birthday while we were there and Leibys got him a home made birthday cake which was delicious, he will never forget that and neither will we.. thank you Leibys :) Pepito got out the domino table and showed us a few Cuban domino games - he went very easy on us! We had a lovely time here, there was parking for our rental car and it was walking distance to the centre of Vinales where we went to experience live salsa music and dancing one of the evenings. Highly recommended
How was your room?: Lovely!. Spotlessly clean, really comfortable beds, good shower with hot water
How was the food they offer?: The food was delicious. Leibys takes really pride in her food and it shows.
Other services they offer: Leibys organised a great horse riding tour which took in a coffee plantation, tobacco plantation, sugar cane farm. She also organised private slasa lessons at the casa.

My review: I love the casa simple,very clean,beautiful patio with small swimming pool and, wonderful view of mogotes.

How was your room?: My room was very clean, nice bed, hot water, AC, small refrigerator with beer, water, sodas.

How was the food they offer?: Food is beyond good as a cuban born is no easy to find a place in Cuba where they can cook like Leybis & Papito. I can not describe how my family enjoy every meal made for them.
I asked Papito if they can made Tamales for us and it was my favorite meal in my 21 days in Cuba. Everything the cooked was so good chicken BBQ is to die for it.

Other services they offer: Laundry,,Horse Riding,Taxi service,Dance Class. Also they give you all kind of tips to move around Vinales.Papito is a professional hiker

Other comments: I cannot say enough about the Leybis y Papito. They are amazing people who enjoy chat with the guests feeling like their own house. Every time I visit Cuba this will be my first stop my daughters love them.

Villa Leibys y Papito El Zapatero

My review: Simply a wonderful place to stay in Viñales. Our hosts were fabulous - great meals, really helpful in planning our days, made arrangements for taxis and bikes. After a day out doing things, they have a really nice terrace, where you can sit, have a drink and watch the view of the mogotes beyond the farmers' fields. Absolutely the best Pina Colada we had in Cuba made with fresh local coconut and pineapple! On the property there are coconuts, bananas, limes, guava and pomegranates.
We ate our breakfasts and suppers there and Leibys is a great cook. Tons of fresh fruit with every meal. Great choices for main courses - we had beef, chicken, pork and fish twice. And goood coffee!
The rooms are comfortable with showers and toilet seats (they don't all have toilet seats in Cuba) air conditioning and 110v power outlets.
Since we stayed there 3 weeks ago, Pepito has finished building the plunge pool next to the terrace, so after a day of horseback riding, biking or hiking a quick refreshing dip would be awesome!

How was your room?: Comfortable with air conditioning and mosquito nets.

How was the food they offer?: 5 stars!
Great meals! Anything we wanted Leibys would buy and prepare. Plenty of vegetable side dishes. Lots of fresh fruit.

Other services they offer: They arranged our taxis and tours and found us bikes to rent.
They have a very friendly dog, who loves attention!

Villa Leibys y Papito El Zapatero

My review: Wonderful. We had a wonderful five days with Leibys and Papito. The rooms and beds were comfortable and there was even toilet seats! (Not to be taken for granted in Cuba). Breakfast was great, with lots of fruit, juice, eggs, pancakes and good coffee. We arranged to have Leibys cook our first dinner as we were arriving late and it was so good we ate all our dinners there: lobster, fish, beef (ropa vieja), chicken and pork. Really good four course meals for CUC8 to 10.

Leibys and Papito are great people and did everything possible to make us comfortable. We just had to mention about cycling and bicycles were waiting for us in the morning. They also organized hiking, trips to the beach, even a reliable taxi to Varadero!

The best thing was the courtyard where we could sit with a beer or a pina colada in the evening and enjoy the view of the tranquil farm fields with the mountains in the background. Soooooo relaxing! And now they even have a small pool.

How was your room?: Comfortable and clean.

How was the food they offer?: Everything was excellent.

Other services they offer: They provided a very good guide for a hike through the valley and good, reliable taxis.

My review: Perfect Casa in Vinales:
- lovely casa with a garden with view on the mogotes from the Veranda (soon Papito will end building a swimingpool!!)
- room with fan and aircondition as well as moscito nets
riendly hosts (organised our horsetrip and Papito painted us our own map for a walk!!) - delicious food (Leibys is a wonderfull cook, we missed her food on the rest of our trip in Cuba!)

To make it short: We can only strongly recommend you this Casa in Vinales!! (it has a looot of Casas in Vinales but with this one you can only be happy!!)

My review: We had some fantastic days in this delightful home Vinales handled excellently by Leibys and Papito (that wonderful couple). Upon our arrival Leibys welcomed us with great warmth and cordiality offering a fabulous fruit smoothie and immediately ready to help for any need. In the beautiful garden there is a terrace with fantastic panoramic views of the mountains and the Valle del Silencio; that peace, let it relax "lull" in the rocking chairs sipping good coffee or enjoying a formidable Leibys Cubita .... that pleasure !!!!! You can also have fun playing dominos with Papito. Thank Papito (very good guide) for the beautiful and instructive tour in Valle del Silencio with a visit to the tobacco plantations and to nearby villages. And what about the good and abundant breakfasts and dinners, Leibys is really an excellent cook, his dishes are prepared with great care and attention making and desserts (I miss her soup and lobster !!!). Leibys Papito and thanks for your sincere hospitality and for cigars received as a gift at the time to say goodbye .... we hope to return and maybe Papito will have finished building the pool !!!! We highly recommend you spend a few days in Vinales and especially to stay in the house and Leibys Papito ....... you will remain in the heart !!!!!!

How was your room?: The rooms are comfortable and equipped with everything (nice bathroom with hot water, refrigerator, hairdryer etc. Etc.). Very clean.

How was the food they offer?: Fabulous,the food was great.Leibys is really an excellent cook, his dishes are prepared with great care and attention making and desserts (I miss her soup and lobster !!!).

Other services they offer: Papito is avery good guide for the beautiful and instructive tour in Valle del Silencio with a visit to the tobacco plantations and to nearby villages.

Other comments: Leibys and Papito are very charming personable hosts.

My review: A great place, with a magnificent view. Papito y Leiybis are very friendly. Real hosts.
Their place is spacious, and this summer they will have their own splash pool! Made by Papito.
They have two rooms with bathroom.

How was your room?: Good, beds were fine, little bathroom but okay. Everything was clean and they have muskitonets hanging above the beds.

How was the food they offer?: Fabulous, best food we had throughout Cuba! We had grilled fish, chicken from the bbq and lobster. The soup is very tastefull. breakfast is served outside with a view! and there was plenty....

Other services they offer: Leiybis contacts a local guide for horse riding/walks etc. She will arrange taxis whatever you like.

Casa Leibis y Papito

My review: Leibys and Papito, were great looking after me. I stayed with them for a number of months throughout 2013 and they were wonderful to me. They celebrated my birthday with a cake and bbq, cooked me whatever i wanted, let me join them playing dominoes...They made me one of the family!
The casa is clean, the food is good and they are wonderful people. Its a 5 minute walk to the centre of town and is quiet enough to just kick back and relax with a book if you want.

I'd really recommend this casa!

How was your room?: Clean and comfortable with air conditioning and my own bathroom with a pretty good shower.

How was the food they offer?: Great! fresh and plentiful...they just fed me SO much and i loved it.

Other services they offer: They are willing to make bookings on your behalf for trips and excursions and know everything about the tourist traps in and around Vinales.

My review: My wife and I stayed in the casa particulares, Villa Leibys y Papito el Zapatero, Nov 2014. Our hosts, Leibys and Papito were most welcoming. Their Casa is very clean and well set-up with 2 rooms to rent and separate bathrooms. Breakfast was served on a terrace overlooking the limestone cliffs of Vinales. Leibys is an exceptional cook and we thoroughly enjoyed the dinners she cooked for us. Staying in a casa particulares is a great way to learn more of the Cuban people and culture. You won’t be disappointed staying with Leibys and Papito in their Casa

How was your room?: Excellent. Very clean.

How was the food they offer?: The food was great. We requested our host to make dinner 2 evenings, and both meals were amazing. Rates as one of the best meals we had in Cuba.

Other services they offer: Arrangements were made for a one day hiking guide service.

Other comments: Very charming personable hosts.
