Everyone told us that Vinales was "tranquila", it really was! A perfect base for discovering Vinanles, the hosts had lots of useful tips, and how could we manage without our own private taxi driver in the house.

Villa Azul
Address: Km.25 carretera Pinar del Rio no.18
Vinales

Wonderful and very friendly hosts, do not speak English but it does not matter too much...one still understand each other, and Tebelio and Olvido are ready to help you in any way they can.Although not greatly advertised Villa Azul is a lovely place where to stay with wonderful vistas and the visitors book attest of the fondness people have of this casa particular and of the regret they have at leaving it and their hosts.

Casa style: Quiet, Fantastic hosts, Comfertable, Cozy, Roomy, Safe
Amenities: Parking service, Private bathroom, Garden, Ceiling fan
How was your room?: Very spacious and quite comfortable, two beds, occasionally visited by a lizard or two when the windows are open (this is no bother at all).
How was the food the offer?: Food was delicious, plentiful and varied.Having breakfast with fresh Cuban coffee, fruits and different juices, bread and butter, omelettes...all this outside on the patio! Nothing like it really, life as it should be. And the dinners won't let you go hungry either, believe me....
Other comments: Tebelio and Olvido are truly friendly and welcoming, one of the first things they will say is that one is like family to them and that "mi casa es tu casa".Their way of looking after you will prove it...

Casa Yamilka y Ariel
Address: Calle Rafael Trejo Final #4
Vinales, Cuba

Brilliant place to stay I would absolutely recommend for anyone going to Vinales. For a start, Yamilka and Ariel were both great, kind and welcoming hosts. The room was spotless, cleaned every day while we were away, and any little problem we had was dealt with swiftly. But more than that, Yamilka is a fantastic cook, so inventive that she succeeded in making my extremely-hard-to-please-vegeterian girlfriend eat like there is no tomorrow. I\'ll probably never see that happen again... unless I go back to their casa! As for Ariel, who speaks perfectly fluent English, he organises himself tobacco fields and cave tours among many other things. An unforgettable experience!!!

Casa style: Quiet, Fantastic hosts, Elegant, Comfertable, Cozy, Hidden gem, Roomy, Charming, Safe
Amenities: Private entrance, Airconditioning, Private bathroom, Laundry service, Garden, Ceiling fan
How was your room?: The room is big enough for two people (in fact, it can fit three, but that might be a bit too much). Most importantly, it opens on a nice little shaded backyard. Despite the bad weather, having our breakfast there every morning was the highlight of the day. Absolutely loved it!
How was the food the offer?: The food was unbelievably nice. I can\'t remember coming across such a gifted cook. Yamilka cooked to accommodate our personal tastes, with different things every day. She really went out of her way to make sure that my girlfriend would enjoy her stay. And she did it so well that few dishes came back uneaten. Fantastic!
Other services they offer: The thing that turned an already great stay into something memorable was to possibility to have some outdoors activities organised by Ariel. In perfect complement to Yamilka guenuine kindness and cooking skills, he speaks perfect English and organises tours in the National Parc. As a former graduate in Cuban history (I think), he knows very well what to show and how to do it to keep it fun and interesting.
Other comments: We went to a few other places during our stay in Cuba, but nowhere else were we taken care of that well. We really miss them...

Casa Yodalys
Address: Calle Rafael Trejo 145 A
Viñales, Pinar del Rio
Cuba

First of all, let me say that we couldn't have wished for a better place to stay! We asked a booked casa in Viñales if she knew a clean house with a nice family and we ended up at Casa Yodalys. We had such a good stay that we decided to go back at the end of our holiday to stay with our Cuban family again.

The food is excellent, Yodalys' sister has always assisted her husband (who is a professional cook) and makes the most tasteful dishes. The house is very clean, you've got your own room, hallway with rocking chairs and the family can arrange basically anything you need. Whether it's a tour on horseback, or some wonderful hikes or bike tours. The casa offers lots of extra services such as massages, salsa classes, information on the Orisha religion and many more.

But apart from that, the atmosphere is great. The family is very close and there is always laughter in the house. And from experience, they throw the best parties! If you are more the quiet type, this doens't bother you because the rooms are well located at the back of the house, away from the road and the music in the living room.

Casa style: Quiet, Fantastic hosts, Comfertable, Cozy, Hidden gem, Charming, Beautiful, Safe

Amenities: Private entrance, Airconditioning, Private bathroom, Minibar, Laundry service, Garden, Ceiling fan

How was your room?: The room was clean and very well-priced for the quality of the amenities and other facilities. The casa offers two rooms, one is a bit smaller than the other. Both rooms have their own bathroom. Towels are provided by the casa.

How was the food the offer?: The food was the best we found in Cuba in 3 weeks. Lobster, chicken, fish, fries, baked banana's, avocado's, arroz y frijoles, fresh fruit juices, nothing is missing from the dinner's this casa hosts!

Other services they offer: All sorts of excursions with your own guide, so no big tourist groups but genuine and relaxed tours adapted to your desires and needs.

Other comments: We had such a good time that we left with pain in our hearts. We hoped to learn a bit more about Cuban culture and daily life, but never did we thought we would actually feel like we were with our own family.

I bet that anyone who stays at Casa Yodalys will have the time of their lives! If you need any extra information or pictures, please send me an email. Whether you like the quiet and privacy of a small town of Viñales, or the warm ambience of a family, Casa Yodalys is the best!

Casa El Cafetal
Address: Adela Azcuy Norte Final s/n
Viñales

My review about the casa: In our opinion this is the best Casa Particular in Viñales and the most perfectly located! Just at the end of the road that leads to the Mogotes, the house sits right at the head of the trail in a bautifully-kept garden full of coffee and fruit trees. Located away from the hustle and bustle of town.
They rent one aircon guest room that is separate from the main house with two double beds and an ensuite bathroom. It includes living and dining areas. Martha Martínez Food is a fantastic and generous cook. Their son Edgar is an expert on rock climbing and on the many trails to be enjoyed around Viñales.
Highly recommended. Our stay in this house was the higfhlight of our 30-day trip to Cuba!

Casa style: Quiet, Fantastic hosts, Comfertable, Hidden gem, Safe
Amenities: Private entrance, Airconditioning, Private bathroom, Garden,
How was your room?: Spacious and comfortable.
How was the food the offer?: Generous and very, very good. Fresh fruits and juices for breakfast. Excellent dinners. Ask for the corn tamales!
Other services they offer: Excellent and knowledgable hosts. Edgar, the son is an expert on the many trails and rock climbing.
