Villa Marta
Address: La colchoneria Viñales Cuba Pinar del Rio, Cuba
Tel: +53 48 695478

In July 2011 I began to organize the holiday d my family and since then I have to talk to Gemma de la Villa Rinconsito, and that I organized with Martha for me to spend two days in Viñales, after leaving unclear how many people we were and the arrival in the meantime I made calls from Switzerland to guarantee the reservation, and on arrival turned out any other story, the house has three bedrooms, and also had other tourists staying there, Mrs. Gemma never appeared not to explain, but if I call the house that we could not stay later to disturb, alter, threaten and insult in various ways, was so nasty and rude and disrespectful on the part of these people, it is unfortunate that responsible people allow this identity so s! aquen a rental permit, as only they know defraud and deceive the turistas. No has no consideration for me and the rest of Mrs. Nenita familia.Gracias to reassure us and we look for a place to stay, to so change the disgusting image left us so early in the afternoon Viñales, only two people who do not respect their work or to customers who feed them.

Cabana Maira Y El Nino
Address: Calle Rafael Trejo Int. 1-C, Vinales, Pinar del Rio, Cuba
Tel: +53 48 793247 / +53 48 696614

My review: It's a new casa, it's was open in March and it's a place that I would like that other people will know. The owners Maira and her boyfriend called "El Nino" are wonderful people! They have welcome us as people of their family! There is just one big cabana so nobody else is in the house! If you like Maira can come to the house and prepare breakfast and dinner but actually she lives in another place. The lobster was delicius and El Nino is a professional barman so he can prepare the best pina colada of Cuba! The house is very clean and you can find everything you may need. Maira is always smiling and very kind! That's the best casa I stayed in Cuba and I wish them to continue their activity!

Casa specifics: Quiet, Fantastic hosts, Comfortable, Hidden gem, Safe, Garden
Amenities: Private entrance, Private bathroom, Garden, Breakfast service, Dinner service, Bathroom with shower
How was your room?: Spacious and clean, We had a big cabana just for us!
How was the food they offer?: Exceptional lobster and big portions of everything!
Other comments: Great people!

Casa Elda y Luis Luis
Address: Sergio Dopico #3b, Vinales, Cuba
Tel: +53 48 695327

My review: Five Stars by Cuba standards and a relief from our first casa in Vinales which was not okay. We (a mature couple) found the casa by walking the streets for a few minutes....there are hundreds of casa in Vinales one block down from the main street.
Elda, the hostess,is so sweet and funny, even if you don't speak spanish.
Luis, her husband/Doctor,speaks English which was welcomed, and is a lovely man.
The extended family surround this casa in other homes.
The room was large, we actually could unpack our bags! Large wash room where everything was in good working order. Our stay was 5 days....and I did not want to leave
The common patio with the eating area and counter with a sink and the side patio are lovely areas to be in.
Located at a busy corner in Vinales, it was a delight to sit and watch Cuba go by....and then go back to the patio/room where it was quiet and peaceful.
Absolutely on problem with street noise. Vinales pulls up the sidewalks at 6 pm anyways.
Vinales is hot, with a very bright sun,and almost no shade on the streets so it is important that your casa has some shade and breeze.
We stayed in over 10 casas in Cuba and this one rates as our top 2.

Casa specifics: Quiet, Fantastic hosts, Comfortable, Hidden gem, Roomy, Safe, Patio
Amenities: Private entrance, Airconditioning, Private bathroom, Laundry service, Breakfast service, Dinner service, Queensize bed, Bathroom with shower
How was your room?: Fabulous room, large, clean and quiet.
How was the food they offer?: As with all Casas the meals were fresh and fulling. Elda even washes the vegies!!!
Other services they offer: Anything you want they can get for you. The Cuba way. Horseback tour with Carlos

Casa El Gallo (Maudelin & Jesy)
Address: Pasaje: Camilo Cienfuegos #20 (altos), La Colchoneria, Vinales, Cuba
Tel: +53 48 696716

My review: What I loved about this casa is the fact that it was off the main street and away from the busy road than runs through Vinales. My favourite pass time was sitting on the 2nd floor patio in a rocking chair watching the sunset and life go by. Maudeline is very friendly and helpful. She aims to please and if she is unable to help you, she will find someone who can. We had breakfast and dinner at this casa. Once again, very large portions. Every morning she would confirm what we would like for dinner and the food was always fresh and delicious. She arranged a private taxi for me - as a photographer, I like going off the beaten track and often prefer private transport. We had a large bedroom with 3 double beds and a private shower to use.

Casa specifics: Quiet, Fantastic hosts, Comfortable, Hidden gem, Roomy, Safe, Patio
Amenities: Private entrance, Airconditioning, Private bathroom, Minibar, Laundry service, Balcony, Breakfast service, Dinner service, Bathroom with shower
How was your room?: Large and spacious. Clean and tidy.
How was the food they offer?: The food was good. Large portions and cooked for us when we wanted to eat. Always fresh.
Other services they offer: Can assist with guided walking tours and helped us arrange a private taxi to take us to Alejandro Robaina.
Other comments: Off the beaten track which is nice and a great view over country life and tabacco plantations. They met us off the Havana bus and walked us to their casa.

Sra. Iluminada Pino Martínez
Iluminada Pino Martínez
Address: Salvador Cisneros # 185, Viñales - Cuba
Tel: +53 48 695153

My review: This is by far the most familiar Casa Particular in Viñales. We stayed here for three nights and the landlady (Nory) let us felt like home. She took very good care of us. We also spent a Cuban birthday, playing Domino and drinking Cuba Libres!
She also has connections with good guides, we wandered through the Viñales valley for hours also visiting a local tobacco farmer.

Casa specifics: Quiet, Comfortable, Cozy, Charming, Safe, Garden
Amenities: Private entrance, Airconditioning, Private bathroom, Breakfast service, Dinner service, Kingsize bed, Extra bed available
How was your room?: Spacy and very neet and clean.
How was the food they offer?: Very good, plenty to eat.
Other services they offer: Guided tours (privately)
Other comments: The owners themselves are the best you could get!

Villa Willito y Liset
Address: Rafael Trejo int 2B altos, Vinales, Pinar del Rio
Tel: +53 48 95101Cheap calls to Cuba

My review: Willito and Liset have created a great space on top of their aunt's house, with a private bedroom and beautiful varanda over looking tobacco plantations at the quiet end of Vinales. We were very comforable here, with easy walk to Casa de la Cultural Centre where we could watch dance preformance and dance cha-cha and salsa for $1 (better than the Tropicana in Havana). Liset has studied food preparation for tourists, and we were her happy guests; her food was so sumptuious and beautifully dispalyed. She does not yet have internet nor email, but when you walk to the "caves" end of Vinales on Rafael Trejo look to the left, behind some beautiful pink bell shaped Adapturia flowers in front of a pig sty, you will see Liset's double level house in the lane. She has a friendly Chow-! chow dog. IN the first half hour from the varanda we spotted turkey vultures, a merlin caught a lizard and ate it on top of the telephone pole, a flock of savanna sparrows, a green hummingbird and a little black one with white spot behind the eye, unidentified. Cows mooed in the fields, dogs barked, farmers go by in ox-drawn carts, vultures soared, the rain shorted out the electricity and stopped our salsa lesson, life happened.

Casa specifics: Quiet, Fantastic hosts, Comfortable, Cozy, Hidden gem, Roomy, Romantic, Charming, Beautiful, Safe
Amenities: Private bathroom, Balcony, Ceiling fan, Breakfast service, Dinner service, Queensize bed, Bathroom with shower
How was your room?: Great
How was the food they offer?: Fantastic. Liset heats up the milk for the morning coffee (strong and good) And she jars her own mango juice when in season and serves it for breakfast the rest of the year!
Other services they offer: Their suggestions for walking tours were good.
