Casa Teresa y Rodolfo
My review: I felt like I'd found my home at Teresa and Rodolfo's. I stayed there twice for a total of twelve days and was sad to leave. This is a quiet, clean, family casa, so if you are looking to party or want night-time excitement you should look elsewhere. But for travellers filling their days and needing rest, this place is perfect. It feels homey, with four generations and extended family living and working there. They pick herbs from their own patio garden and the mango tree over head, laden with almost-ripe fruit made me want to stay til harvest. The homemade marmalades and fresh juices are incredible. I constantly got the impression that they wanted to make my stay perfect. I also felt very safe, even as a single woman staying alone. I had keys to the front and room doors but felt like the house did not rest until the guests were tucked safely in their beds. And the location is fantastic - almost beside the bus station and taxi stands and just minutes from the historic core and beach bus pick up (with multi-time daily return service for 2CUC). There are small shops for snacks and wonderful street pizza very close by. The house is grand in size yet very comfortable and relaxed, just like the family who welcome you into their home! Mucho gusto!

How was your room?: My room was large and clean, with two comfy beds and reading lamps, ample closet space and storage. It was in great condition. The window, with privacy shutters and a curtain, faced the courtyard and morning sun. There were lots of extra blankets (it can get chilly at night) and pillows - not always the case in my experience.
How was the food they offer?: The food here is excellent. I enjoyed the ample daily breakfast (especially the afore-mentioned juices and condiments) and the meals I purchased: one chicken, one shrimp. Both meals were an amazing bargain and included crackers and dip, ensalada, rice and beans, soup (best pumpkin ever!), the main and more, plus dessert, coffee and option for beer or wine. The sauces, in particular, were mucho ricco!
Other services they offer: Teresa and Rodolfo are ready to help with most any request, from taxi contacts to recommendations of accommodation in other locations, as well as tips for enjoying the local area. There is a clothes line along the patio. It's a little thing but so helpful for bathing suits and towels, or quick rinse outs.
Other comments: Don't miss this wonderful accommodation option. I'll be back next year!
