Casa Andres y Ramona
My review: We had a reservation in another casa, but the people there wanted to stay longer, so they arranged the casa from Andres Y Ramona for us.
It was a very nice casa. Andres and Ramona were very friendly people. For us it was difficult to communicate, because they only speak Spanish and we don't.
There is a very nice roof terrace with a beautifull view over de harbour. Bathroom was very small, but with hot water. The beds are good. The airconditioning makes a lot of noise, so we only used the fan.
We could park the car on the opposite site of the steet, and an old man was watching it all night for only 2 CUC.
How was your room?: Nice and clean room, with 2 beds.
How was the food they offer?: We only had breakfast, it was good.
Other services they offer: Laundry service, only 4 CUC per machine.

Andres Y Ramona, Santiago de Cuba
My review: First class casa - super clean - warm&friendly Hosts - great meals.
In Santiago we were welcommed most heartly by Andres and his wife Ramona. Their house is perfectly well kept cosy traditional casa and super clean. We were put up in the newly built appartment with a beautyful bathroom en suite, everything at perfect european hotel-standard. Our vegetarian meals served by Ramona were very tasty, more than we could eat and lovely arranged. Fresh coffee any time was no problem. Andres drove us in his 49er Chevrolet (even the bikes went in the trunk) through town to the bus station. They do everything to make you feel comfortable. At the same time they discretly respect your privacy. Prices were extremely moderate. The view from the roof terrace, where meals are served, is great. The casa is located in a side street just three minutes walk from main attractions. Our bicycles were stored safely in the garage. If we go back to Santiago, we will be happy to stay with Andres and Ramona.

Sr. Andres Games Rodriguez y Ramona
My review: This is an extraordinary place, incredibly interesting, but not for everyone. We absolutely loved it. We stayed in a double, ensuite room built by the owner on a rooftop overlooking Santiago city and the port → it was almost like a very sophisticated hut. The rooftop was approached up a long steep flight of stairs and then a steep metal spiral staircase. Initially we thought the room would be very hot, but we were surrounded by windows with cross-ventilation and also two doors that opened onto the roof. There was also air conditioning and a fan and we were cool enough. The rooftop was huge with a view in several directions over the city and tables either end where we could relax. We had breakfast served on the roof and dinner also, where we watched the sun setting over the port.We ! could see everything going on in the street below. The roof terrace was very much a working place, with welding equipment, washing lines, laundry room and a room with a parrot in a cage, but it had its own charm and we felt very much at home there. Our hosts were delightful, so helpful and welcoming. Andreas arranged outings for us in an American car and accompanied us. He was interesting and informative and such good fun. I would strongly recommend this accommodation for anyone who likes to be high up on the rooftops with a view of the city and who doesn't mind somewhat quirky accommodation.
How was your room?: It was comfortable and there was plenty of space.
How was the food they offer?: Excellent
Other services they offer: Outings in an American car.
Other comments: Andreas and his family were so helpful and welcoming. His niece is also a medical student and helped me when I had a black eye.
