Casa Arturo and Esmeralda
My review: We stayed at Casa Arturo and Esmeralda on 10 October. We were visiting Bayamo to see the independence day celebrations and the following day to go up to see the hideout in the mountains. We had a super stay and both Arturo and Esmeralda made us feel very much at home as they could not do enough for us. This was our third time to Cuba and was the first time we have stayed at a casa particular. This was excellent value for money. A super clean room and great hearty breakfast which set us up for the climb up the mountains. I am a veggie and Arturo made me a brilliant omlette. We will most certainly be staying back here when we come back to Cuba next year. We had already checked out and just popped back to pick up our bags and the couple very kindly offered the use of their own shower for us to get the mountain mud off. We were certainly not expecting that and it was so greatly appreciated. You would never get service like that in the UK. This couple really go above any beyond for their guests.
How was your room?: Superb room. Lovley and clean with a great bed and air con better than in the resort. Well stocked mini-bar and lovely clean shower room. Our room had its own private and secure roof terrace with a great view of the street below.
How was the food they offer?: Excellent. We had a super breakfast of fresh fruit, toast etc. Arturo very kindly made me an omlette since I am a veggie.
Other comments: No better place to stay in Bayamo- you will not be disappointed.

Casa Arturo y Esmeralda
My review: Arturo & Esmerelda made us feel very at home. Arturo speaks English very well, and Esmerelda was very helpful in finding us a paladar/restaurant to eat dinner at. Our room was up on the top floor and had a private balcony and bathroom. Our reason for going to Bayamo was to go hike in the Sierra Maestra mountains, but we ended up not going as my husband was sick. There wasn't a lot to do in Bayamo, but we enjoyed ourselves relaxing on the balcony and in our casa.
How was your room?: Our room was great. Very private and clean. It had a double bed with A/C, stocked mini fridge, and a tv. The attached private bathroom was very big & bright.
How was the food they offer?: They only offered breakfast, but made sure we had a paladar to eat dinner at, which was great. The breakfasts were very good and had lots of variety.
Other comments: We really enjoyed our stay at this casa, we only wish there had been more to do in Bayamo, or that we had been feeling well enough to go for our hike in the Sierra Maestra that we had originally planned.

Casa Arturo y Esmeralda
This is a great place to stay to be able to walk within the city limits. Arturo is learning to speak English and is an excellent cook. Have had pizza and better meals than in local restaurants. I highly recommend this casa to anyone that is visiting Bayamo.
How was your room?: Clean and roomy
How was the food they offer?: Fantastic, Arturo will cook anything you want.
Other services they offer: Tourist information and also if traveling to another city will call and book the next casa particular.
