Casa "Across The Malecon"
I stayed here at: 02/25/2018
How did you make the reservation through Cuba Junky
How much did you pay per night?: 30 or 35 I can't remember

I chose Emilio's casa for the location. I was in town for the weekend for a triathlon taking place on the malecon, back and forth in front of his apartment building. It could not have been better. Emilio met me at the airport, cooked me every meal for three days, made sure I had everything I wanted and made sure everything proceeded smoothly throughout my stay. This area is my favourite to stay in Havana anyway. I have ben to Cuba five times, and stayed in about 25 casa particulares. I recommend casa "Across the Malecon" highly.
- the view out the bedroom window.
How was your room?: The room was great. No problems at all. 2 Beds, bathroom, shower, closet, fridge, fan, AC (but great cross ventilation with breezes off the ocean so I didn't use it)
- the view in the morning off the balcony.
How was the food they offer?: Emilio is great with meals - he'll buy whatever you want at the farm markets and meat/fish suppliers and he'll cook it up how you like it. I never saw rice and beans all weekend :-) (I should say - a lot of Havana Casas don't even offer dinner. Breakfast yes, but they expect you to go out for dinner at restaurants. Paladars have gotten a lot better over the last few years, but for some, like me, it's a lot easier and often better to eat at your casa, and like I said, Emilio provides great meals)
- Emilio's flat is the 7th floor of the blue high-rise behind the cyclists.
Other services they offer: I'm sure Emilio would help you out with whatever. He is very agreeable, and wants you to be happy. His neighbourhood there in Vedado has everything you need, and he can direct you where you want to go.

For wich casa is your review?: Casa Across the Malecon Vedado
I stayed here at: 04/14/2017
How did you make the reservation for this casa particular?: The casa directly
How much did you pay per night?: $35

My review about the casa: The casa was clean, well organized, roomie, easy to access, good location, and has a great view from it's seventh floor setting.
Emilio was friendly, helpful in planning the rest of our Cuban trip, a great cook, and very concerned that our stay in Cuba would be the best possible. He went out of his way to help us and answer all of our questions.
How was your room?: Room was very good. Two double beds, plenty of hot water, daily maid service, clean, well ventilated, and private.
How was the food they offer?: The food at Emilio's casa was perhaps the best feature of all.
He asked us what we wanted to eat, preparing the meals with great care. He was careful to always have fresh food for us, traditional Cuban food.
Other services they offer: Laundry, travel advise, and mostly made us feel at home in his casa. A very comfortable stay. We stayed from 8 March to 14 March. Again 31 March to 4 April
Other comments: I would recommend This Casa to anyone. Of the seven casa's we stayed at in Cuba ( they were all good ) I would rank Emilio's as the finest. |
