Casa Alex B&BMy review: My mother and I stayed in 2 of the 3 bedrooms in apartment 5B, located on Ave. Paseo between Ave 5 and 7. The apartment has a total of 3 rooms for rent with the owner/hosts living in a separate area on the other side of the kitchen. The 2 rooms we used share a hallway bathroom, while the 3rd room is like a master bedroom with its own bathroom. You also have use of a refrigerator which is stocked with beverages for purchase. The apartment has a dining room, living room with large TV, Playstation 3 (can be used to play Blu-Ray, DVD, CDs, etc.), and a sun room with a view of the ocean and occupied by Alex's pet parrot. The bedrooms all have A/C and TVs. All of the furnishings are comfortable and modern, and the apartment is beautifully decorated. A maid cleans the apartment and changes the linens and towels daily. The hosts, Alex and his wife Leisys, are a charming couple who treated us like family. Alex speaks perfect English, and is happy to provide recommendations and advice, as well as help with making any arrangements you need, like calling for restaurant reservations. During my stay, I learned that Alex had arranged entire trips for some of the guests, including booking tours, transportation to other cities, and reserving B&B rooms in those cities. In addition to apartment 5b, Alex manages at least 2 other rental apartments in the building, and those guests also have breakfast in the 5b apartment. The breakfast each morning is simple, delicious and healthy, and they are happy to accommodate any food requests you may have. The standard offering is cut fruit, bread, freshly blended fruit juice, cafe' con leche, biscotti, eggs to order, ham, and tomato slices. The location of the B&B cannot be more perfect. 3 blocks north, you are at the Malecon. 1 block south, you are on Linea and there is a CADECA (money exchange) place right on the corner. Lots of cool restaurants and clubs within walking distance. It's only a short taxi ride (easy to flag down when they pass in front of the building) to anywhere in Havana. Word of warning: Do not try to pet the parrot. He will bite you! May 3 2016
CASA ALEX B&B, HAVANA VEDADOMy review: One friend, my father and I spent an amazing time at Alejandro’s and Leisys’s place on the last week of April 2016. His place is very clean, neat and close to very good restaurants and bars. Besides its good view from Malecon and even the new American embassy, Alejandro is such a good host, who made your trip such a pleasant and joyful experience. My father went to Cuba to spend his b-day, and Alejandro made everything work perfectly. June 30 2015

June 7 2015 Casa Alex B&BMy review: This was my first visit to Cuba and I attempted to make reservations at a few top hotels but they were all fully book for my respective travel dates. After researching I realized that license Casa Particulars ( family own apartment/home) are highly recommend so I opted to search for a Casa Particular within close proximity to Vedado area, providing specific details of my request to the owners and after a few options I desired to stay at Casa Alex B&B: The owner Alejandro explained that his Casa is very clean, comfortable and I can get a room with private bathroom, A/C, fan with flat screen television.and good for me he had no dogs and cats in his Casa.
On my arrival Casa Alex did not disappoint my expectations. Alex Casa is extremely clean and they are very helpful and friendly people. All Amenities worked very well. I had no problem. His wife a quiet and pleasant lady who prepared great balance breakfast every morning which also included fruits. Alejandro's wife also ironed my clothing for my hectic business week (so sweet!! Thank you Leisys). Alejandro and his wife speaks English good enough so communicating was easy. Alex Casa is on the 5th floor. Being close the Melia Cohiba I paid for Wifi Service at the hotel for the duration of stay..a bit slow and expensive but it worked.
Casa Alex Particular is walking distance from the Malecon Seawall and HM 7 Restaurant (great restaurant for dining). If visiting for the first time be sure to pay $5 CUC for a tour of Habana on the red double bus. " Transtur Habana Tour" All the locations I visited I found the streets in Havana to be clean. Thank you for a wonderful stay Alex & Leisys and how can I forget the Guayaba de Creme ( hope I got it right!!) The Guava Cheese, very nice!!!!! . Although I love staying at hotels & resorts I did not miss the experience in Havana at all .. CASA ALEX B&B was Excellent for me !! ALEX B&BMy review: Excelente ubicación, a 50 metros del malecón en el Paseo una buenísima zona del centro de la Habana. Magníficas vistas. La casa es perfecta, excelentemente acondicionada, con todas las comodidades necesarias, e incluso más. Todo nuevo, super limpio. Fantástico desayuno, maravillosa la atención de sus propietarios. En realidad, es como estar en tu propia casa¡¡ No dejeis de alojaros aquí, es un antes y un después para los que conocemos muchos lugares donde hospedarse en Cuba, esta casa si es ESTAR EN CASA¡¡¡ How was your room?: Excellent How was the food they offer?: Perfect Other comments: Everything was wonderful. Casa Alex B&BMy review: I only spent one night at Alex B&B after a long day of traveling back to Havana from Ciego de Avila and it couldn't have been more perfect. Alejandro and his wife have a beautiful apartment with a great view - my room was large and comfortable and I had a very clean, and private bathroom. I was offered a coffee as soon as I walked in the door, which was much appreciated! After my coffee I went back to my room to clean up a bit and the power went out for about 10 minutes across the neighbourhood - Alejandro's wife brought me a couple of candles within about 30 seconds for light, so that was very thoughtful! Alejandro gave me a dinner recommendation for a Mediterranean restaurant down the street which was excellent. I had a great sleep and they cooked up an incredible breakfast before they called me a cab for the airport. I would stay here again in a heartbeat! How was your room?: Clean and comfortable. Alex B&BMy review: Alex B&B is a real gem of a casa. All the rooms, including the common living/dining room and the cozy sunroom, are tastefully and comfortably appointed. The hosts are generous, knowledgeable, and well..... just delightful people to spend time with. The location was perfect for us: it is in.the heart of leafy Vedado, just a stone's throw from the Malecon. It is only a short taxi trip to old Havana or a 25 minute ride to the beautiful beaches known as Playas del Este. There are lots of great restaurants just a short walk away. How was your room?: Alex B&B is immaculate: each day the floors and bathrooms are scrubbed clean. The room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. How was the food they offer?: Every morning Leisys and Alex worked hard to prepare us a wonderful feast of fresh coffee, juices, fruits, eggs. bacon and lots of toast. Casa Alex B&BMy review: This B&B is adequately located, not too far from the historic city but far enough to be quiet. Alex and Leisys, the owners are wonderful and their hospitality has no limit. Only 30 mn from the airport. Close to a Jazz Club and several nightlife places ( Habana Cafe ). How was your room?: Rooms are spacious and comfortable, cleaned every day. How was the food they offer?: The food is exquisite and far better than most of the restaurants in the city. Other services they offer: Cold Beverages at very reasonable price Other comments: Alex and Leisys speak english and know how to make their customers feel comfortable. They also speak easily with their customers or let them quiet if they feel it's more appropriate.
