This is my second stay at Casa Ily with Rene and family. I had previously been with them for a month and this latter visit was eleven days. Once again they made me very welcome. Rene, whom speaks English, has collected me from the bus station in his car and has arranged taxis from/to the airport. The Casa is in a well appointed quiet neighbourhood. I had the self contained one bedroomed apartment with separate entrance on the top floor with the balcony overlooking the beautiful Rio Almendares Valley. The apartment is spotless and regularly cleaned.
I like to self cater and the kitchen is well equipped. Casa Ily is close to Avenue 26 with supermarkets, vegetable market, three bakeries (one specialising in delicious cakes) and Gas Station/Garage . There is a Bank close by and CADECA for money exchange to CUC and CUP if you need to use local transport bus/Taxi Particular. There is a post office a few mins walk from the shopping centre too.
I throughly recommend this Casa for a peaceful and quality stay in Havana.

Rene and Ily are the most wonderful people! They run a beautiful home with beautiful tiered patios and in a wonderful neighborhood. I stayed 2, Feb - 8 Feb 2017. Ily will make breakfast if you want each day for an additional 6 CUCs. The breakfast was HUGE!!! Rene was incredibly helpful with finding things/places/restaurants, etc. Their home is a 10 minute walk to many transportation options in a very nice neighborhood. My room was very clean, with a ceiling fan and in wall air conditioner. The bathroom was clean and included a good supply of hot water. I WILL RETURN!!!!!
