My review: We had a fantastic 3-night stay at Las Mercedes in Havana. Carlos was an exceptional host, both before our arrival, answering all of our questions in a very timely manner and organizing tours and airport pickups as well as during the time we were there. He was always willing to help out with a smile on his face, be it in recommending travel itineraries, making restaurant reservations as well as with less fun things such as lost luggage, and Cuban bureaucracy. The accommodation itself was great, especially for Cuban standards - the pictures are very similar to what you get. A very clean - modern apartment with all amenities, and located in the heart of Old Havana, walking distance to all of the main sights of the city. We would definitely recommend others to stay at La Mercedes and will do so ourselves next time we are back in Havana. Gracias Carlos!

My review: Las Mercedes is like an paradise in Habana Vieja. Carlos was the most amazing host. He made our trip to Havana unforgettable. He immediately greets you upon arrival. He will assist you in anywhere you would like to go. He knows all the best places for cigars, rum, and coffee. I highly recommend having arrange a day trip in a classic car to either Viñales or the Bay of Pigs. He leaves a cellphone in the apartment for you to call him with anything you may need. He will exchange all of your money with a better rate than the airport. So just exchange enough for the taxi ride to the place, which he will also arrange for you. The apartment itself is top notch. The rooms are comfortable with a strong air conditioner and strong water pressure. Believe me, you will want and appreciate these amenities above all else during your trip here. Very safe neighborhood. We never felt unsafe even at night, walking the area. I kept scratching my head and wondering how all of the finishings in the apartment got lights from Ikea? Kudos to the work they have done in putting this all together. Excellent location for getting around old Havana. Carlos had exceptional communication throughout, arranged for classic transportation when we needed it, even after we moved to another area of Cuba. Breakfast at the apt prepared by his lovely wife was a nice addition, allowing us to easily get going with our days activities. Carlos was very understanding when my husband fell ill on our last day and we had to unfortunately cancel an excursion he had set up for us. All in all, I would recommend staying here to anyone, our experience was a good one, and we will be back to Habana in the future! Thank you Carlos.

My review: My name is Mark and my partner and I spent 4 nights at Carlos place and we were extremely pleased. His place is located in the heart of old Havana which was what we wanted. Carlos is a very professional, kind and extremely helpful. His place very clean and beautiful with greatest breakfasts, eggs, fresh fruit, juices, pancakes, bread, butter, marmalade and coffee or tea. Carlos greets you on the first day and spends at least a half hour going over the map of old Havana and tells you all the interesting places to visit and how to get there, all within walking distance. He has a phone at his place and asks you to call 24 7 if you need anything and he answers all calls. if you need a direction he will take you there personally. The maid service is great and water pressure is very good that is hard to come by in Cuba. The air conditioning is marvelous. We loved his place and Carlos himself and recommend his place to everyone. You will not be sorry. Thanks Carlos.
