Casa Mercedes y Jorge
My review: The casa seems to be managed by Jorge's granddaughter although we were initially met by Jorge. We never met Mercedes. The granddaughter didn't appear to have her heart and soul in the business. Since the casa doesn't provide dinner, we asked for a recommendation for dinner and being our first night had no reference point re quality and pricing. The granddaughter led us to a little hole-in-the-wall restaurant up a back alley which could have been an interesting experience in itself except the service provided was by a grumpy old woman, the food so-so and, as we found from subsequent experience, definitely overpriced. The saving graces were a comfortable, quiet room and an excellent breakfast served to us by a very, very pleasant girl who also prepared it.
How was your room?: Comfortable and quiet.
How was the food they offer?: Very nice breakfast including fresh fruit, fresh juice, eggs, bread, etc No dinners offered even though mentioned in their write-up.

My review: Haben diese Casa particular von Spanien aus gebucht ,wir wurden wie vereinbart vom Fughafen abgeholt . Da wir in spanisch sprechen war die Vertaendigung fuer uns sehr einfach ! Als wir dort ankamen wurden wir sehr herzlich empfangen , obwohl es schon 23.30 spaet war.
Volvimos de la Habana hace solo una semana y nuestra experiencia viajando por Cuba y hospedarnos en casas particulares ha sido muy positiva, más divertida y más enriquecedora que durmiendo en hoteles.
Sobretodo haber podido compartir unos días de nuestra estancia en casa de Mercedes y Jorge en la Habana Vieja. Nos trataron como de la familia y nos ayudaron en todo momento a conseguir otros alojamientos en el resto de Cuba.
La ubicación, cerca de todo lo que uno quiere ver de la Habana y la simpatía y amabilidad de los dueños y los que trabajan en casa de Mercedes y Jorge, hacen que sea un lugar al que sin duda volveremos si viajamos otra vez a Cuba.
How was your room?: Las habitaciones son amplias, con baño y tranquilas, estas cómodo.
How was the food they offer?: Los desayunos a basa de frutas, zumos, revueltos, café, leche, té y pan te dan la energia que necesitas para todo el dia.

My review: Absolutely incredible people. Really helped us around Havana and helped us plan and organise our trip around Cuba. Beautiful place and people.
How was your room?: Spotless and extremely comfortable.
How was the food they offer?: Excellent.
Other comments: Loved every minute of our time in Havana and Cuba because we found this place. Amazing place to stay, so helpful. Brilliant people

My review: Dona Mercedes and Don Jorge were wonderful hosts. The house was lovely and in a great location. They were very welcoming and answered all my question. I was traveling alone and felt very safe and looked after. They are very warm and I felt like they welcomed me into their family. I recommend.
How was your room?: Very comfortable, with air-con on the hot days (awesome) and the shower had great hot water.
How was the food they offer?: I only had breakfast but it was huge and delicious. I couldn't eat it all. Wonderful fruit platter, juice, coffee, eggs (your way), bread etc. |
