Casa Verano Azul
My review: I recently spent 5 nights at the charming and chic Casa Verano Azul, amidst the artfully decorated rooms, sleeping on the most comfortable bed I had during my entire 3-weeks in Cuba. Miladis (the owner) & her wonderful staff, Klarissa, Dania & Ramundo, all made me feel like I was one of their extended Cuban family.
The breakfast Dania cooked me each morning was delicious and substantial with special touches like heart shaped jelly on the pancakes and delicious fruit smoothies. Klarissa was extremely helpful in calling ahead to Viazul for me and answering my sometimes painfully slow questions en espanol. Milly even had a gathering of her tango dancing friends one evening and they welcomed me into their gathering without hesitation.
The two local restaurants I tried (within walking distance of the casa) were delicious. I especially liked the vibe at Cocina de Lillian - what a beautiful garden and grand entrance! I was traveling alone and felt entirely safe walking to eat alone in Miramar. The information binder in my room gave me all kinds of insight into things I might want to do while in Havana and where the best restaurants were located.
As a traveling yogi, I especially appreciated the patio directly off my room which was just large enough for me & my yoga mat. I enjoyed being able to get in a quiet practice each day. By Cuban standards I found this neighbourhood very quiet.
Thanks for making me feel so at home.

Casa Verano Azul
My review: First time in Cuba and brought our own bikes. Arrangements made by email prior to arrival. Met by Klarissa who couldn't have been more helpful, having organising transport for us and our bikes. Casa Verano Azul is a bit out of the city centre but the tourist bus stops outside the door and the local area is very pleasant and safe to wander around with several top quality restaurants. The house itself is very picturesque with an eclectic mix of colourful artwork, a large patio and garden. Klarissa and her colleagues are always available to answer any questions and were kind enough to allow us to leave our bike boxes in the garage until our return.

My review:
Wow!!!
Fantastic house with beautiful wall mosiac's in the outside terrace-patio by a famous Cuban artist. My god it was stunning! I had all my meals there, it was simply magical. Food absolutely amazing, try the fish and lobster, they were the best I had whilst in Cuba even though I tried going to private restaurants, nothing was as good as Mayra's incredible dishes!!!!
Adolfo and Mayra were very welcoming hosts, I'll definitely go back again...and again...and again :-)

How was your room?: Room very comfortable with air condition and nice linen, on-suite shower room and with exclusive use of a full bathroom. Doors opens out onto a lovely terrace where we sunbathed every day.
How was the food they offer?: First class!! very creative. I had the best food whilst in Cuba, lobster and fish dishes were simply amazing, fantastic black beans and other Cuban delicacies.
Other services they offer: I used their laundry service on various ocassions and it was good.
Other comments: The hosts were very welcoming and the visit was absolutely hilarious as they spoke little English but it made it even more fun. It was the real taste of Cuba. I can't wait to go back!
