Casa Eduardo
My review: This casa was AMAZING! I was so skeptical because this was my first time staying in a casa particular and from my first visit to Cuba I learned that you cannot always believe in the photos you see posted on the Internet. I was traveling with my 11 year-old daughter so staying in a decent place was my first priority. What a pleasant surprise upon my arrival to Casa Eduardo. The owner was very punctual with our meeting time as I was coming to stay in Varadero from Havana. He was soft spoken and very kind. From the outside the casa was beautiful and thankfully the inside was equally as beautiful and so, so, so clean! It is very modern, painted with beautiful, cheery colors. The owner was extremely helpful with making us feel right at home and suggesting places to eat and visit. There is a great outdoor bar just a few blocks away that plays live music every night from 9pm-12am. Everything was very close by and the neighborhood is quiet and extremely safe. For added security I parked my rental car downstairs in the gated driveway for $1 CUC per night. The very kind woman provided me with a key so I could enter and leave as I pleased. I sat outside every morning as people came by selling their deals of the day. I bought a 4.5 lb box of shrimp for $10 CUC and lobster tails for $2 CUC/each-they were AMAZING!!! Fresh and sooooooo tender!!! I tell you, there is nothing else you could ask for with this casa! Great eats, close to the beach, CLEAN, quiet, safe neighborhood-OH and unfortunately I realized there was an outside shower downstairs by the stairs (so you could remove the sand before entering the apartment) after we had already done so. Sorry about that! On my departure day I had the pleasure of meeting the owner's lovely wife. They make an outstanding team! My ONLY regret is not spending my entire trip here! Next time I will skip Havana and head straight to Casa Eduardo!!

Casa Eduardo
My review: We stayed here for two nights at the end of our trip through Cuba. This is an independent house in that Lieny and Eduardo do not live in the apartment with you. They offer all meals and return to the casa to prepare them for you. They are a great team. I was inspired to see them work so well together. We enjoyed our time visiting with them. Leiny speaks very good English and so does Eduardo but he is a bit shy at first to speak. I like that we had the apartment to ourselves. A bit more privacy and flexibility.
Casa specifics: Quiet, Fantastic hosts, Comfortable, Cozy, Roomy, Beautiful, Safe
Amenities: Parking service, TV, Private entrance, Airconditioning, Private bathroom, Balcony, Breakfast service, Dinner service, Bathroom with shower, Private parking
How was your room?: There are two rooms in the house. One with a doublish bed and the other with bunk beads and a double bed. There are two big closets in each room which is nice to put luggage in so you are not tripping over it.
How was the food they offer?: The food was great and plentiful. They have a menu that you can look at. Breakfast was 5$ and the dinners were between 6-8. You just need to tell them ahead of time what meals you want and they come back to the casa and cook them for you.
Other services they offer: We asked about a taxi and they were able to book us one. As with any casa all you do is ask and they will do their best to help you with anything.
Other comments: This apartment is located about a three minute walk to the beach. Very direct. There is a little restaurant half a block away where you can buy beer and eat. We bought beer there but did not get a chance to eat there but I am sure it would have been good. There is also a little coffee hut on the way to the beach where you can buy drinks and snack food. These places are generally cheaper than on the strip and don't charge you extra when they see you are a tourist.
I really enjoyed their balcony. It was spacious and quiet. I really felt at home here.
