Casa no. 2

My review: I loved all the people who work here. I loved the last minute quick service by email. I loved that we could walk everywhere because we love to walk and enjoy the locals. It was just a kil. From a walk on the ocean or from a walk around the old town, just over the bridge. Also just a kil from the bus viazul. I enjoyed our privacy on the beautiful balcony and I enjoyed watching and learning about the locals who passed in the streets from the 'Pan suerte' man in the morning at 7 am to the last people home at night. the food was the best of all the casas and we ordered all the desayunos and cenars. thanks Marilyn. we found the baseball field almost on our doorstep where we enjoyed 4 baseball games earlier in Feb. Between our Nova Scotia team and Matanzas. there is a lot in this beautiful UNESCO city to enjoy. Xxoo

How was your room?: Our room was great. We left both doors open to let a breeze go through for 3 days between the 2 patios. nice bathroom also.

How was the food they offer?: Marilyn's mom is a great cook.

Other services they offer: they have a car and picked us up at the viazul.

My review: Location , location , I was cycling so access was important. Easy walk to city center, close to bus station . Good meals and advice, I would stay again

Casa Marylin

My review about the casa: The room was clean and spaceous. There was a fridge and airco. We had problem with the hot water, in the other room the water was hot but in our room, we only had cold water.
There was room for the car behind a gate, but we left it outside in front of th house, it was safe as well.
It was difficult to find if you came by car, but a very nice family helped us and their son a friendly guy who spoke a few words French and English brought us to the right place. In return we dropped him off at the bus station.
Do not hesitate to ak people for directions, they are always very helpfull.

How was your room?: Just fine, with a balcony in the front and in the back.
How was the food they offer?: The food was very nice, that evening no choice just chicken but we loved it, and like everywhere in Cuba always to much.
Other services they offer: We only stayed one night just to be close to the airport, but Marylin was well informed about things to do and can make your stay very interesting when you are spending more days in Matanzas.
Other comments: Like everywhere in Cuba, if you sleep in a casa surrounded by other houses you will wake up early. As was the case here, if you want to sleep longer, stay in an all-in hotel. Sleeping in a casa really let you experience the Cuban life. We loved it.

Casa Marylin

This is my third time at Casa Marylin in 6 months and it won't be my last. Being a single traveler, Marylin and her family treats me very well and and she is very helpful with finding things to do and just giving me a firsthand look at the Cuban culture. The food was amazing and plentiful, and they kept my room clean at all times. I feel safe there as the neighborhood is quiet and the premises is locked at all times. I can't wait to return to my home away from home!

How was your room?: Clean, private, included a fridge.
How was the food they offer?: Very tasty, and they serve a lot!

Casa Marylin

We stayed here for four nights after a long flight. Our first impression was good but after two days we recogniced that they didn't clean the rooms and emptied the baskets and during our trip all over Cuba was this casa one of them who counted very much.

How was your room?: rooms were ok
How was the food they offer?: They served very well, but they counted every extra coffee you asked for.
Other comments: Our experience from this trip is to ask in the beginning about the payment and costs.

Casa Marylin 

Very nice rooms in a new built second floor, incl. balcony, private bathroom, air conditioning, TV, fridge, parking place, very good food. Marylin is a very nice and helpful person. She tells a lot of good tips about the region, speaks good English.
