Hostal El Chef

My review: We had trouble finding good, cheap food in Trinidad but Emilio is an AMAZING chef. He served us a 4 course meal for only $8 each, and it was so good. Also, breakfast ...awesome! We were so satisfied with that.
There's 3 rooms, 2 of which have a shared patio which has sun and shade and is really nice, the 3rd room does not have a patio entrance and we were in that room the 1st night but we were switched to one of the nicer rooms the next night without us even asking, it was very sweet of them.
the location was about a 10 minute walk to the center of town, around Casa de musica. It was a nice and quite place, no loud trucks and motorcycles waking you up in the middle of the night like a lot of places we stayed.

The only thing is that the kitchen doesnt work, like, at all....there are books being stored in the oven... Also, the TV didnt work, but that might be changing soon. There was however a good functioning fridge that kept our water very cold :)

Overall, excellent stay, a big thanks to Emilio for the delicious food and all the help and for waking up at 5:30 am to make us breakfast before our long bus ride.

How was your room?: Queen bed, private bath, patio access, nice bathroom with ok shower pressure.

How was the food they offer?: YUMMMMMMYYY!!!!!

Other services they offer: unsure but they would probably organize anything you needed them to- very happy, friendly, kind family

Hostal El Chef

My review: We arrived to Trinidad in January 16th 2015, and stayed in Hostal el chef for 2 nights.
We couldn't ask for better hospitality than the warm welcoming that we received from Fatima (the chef's wife).
We slept in a room wich located in the 2nd floor, so we have our privacy. The room has AC and hot water.
All the meals were served in a beautiful patio and cooked by Emilio (the chef).
The food was great!
Fatima was amazing and took care of everything we needed, from booking us the casa in vinales, the taxi to vinales and also make a telephone call to the lady in the casa in vinales to make sure we arrived safe and sound.
very recommended!
