Hostal Nilda
My review: I highly recommend staying here and wish you as happy and enjoyable stay as I always do. Five years ago Hostal Nilda was the first casa particular I stayed in and I have returned every year since, to where i now consider my second home. Its a beautiful colonial building perfectly situated in the centre of Trinidad, just round the corner from taxi rank and internet cafes and the bus station is also nearby. The famous casa musica steps for music and dance, museums and other attractions are also very closeby.
Nilda and Rolando are both very kind and helpful and I always found them really helpful to me with arranging transport or other accomodation if needed. In comparison with any other casa i stayed in, their food has honestly always been the best. Nilda is the coolest gran ive met. She's full of positive energy and always laughing and joking round the house. This year I was delighted to meet Yaimara working there again, and I already look forward to a chance to play dominos with her next time.
Casa specifics: Quiet, Fantastic hosts, Comfortable, Colonial, Charming, Beautiful, Safe, Patio
Amenities: Airconditioning, Private bathroom, Laundry service, Breakfast service, Dinner service, Extra bed available, Bathroom with shower
How was your room?: The room has a double and a single bed, its very clean and comfortable. The doors open out to small but lovely patio where breakfast or dinner can be enjoyed in the sun or a quiet book can be read. Guests have their own fridge/freezer and filtered water is available for drinking.
How was the food they offer?: Nilda and Rolando serve the most DELICIOUS dinners, so much so that I eat there every night. The traditional beans and rice, and soups are out of this world, as is the pork chicken or fish! I have enjoyed every meal served there and over the years thats quite a few meals. I have been very lucky to visit Nildas sons farm where they grow black and red beans, tomatoes, squash and greens and make cheese etc. Maybe you could be very lucky to get a chance to visit this beautiul farm too?

Hostel Nilda trinidad, Cuba
My review: A lovely traditional casa which was spotlessly clean. Nilda and Rolando were wonderful hosts, despite not speaking any english. The room was large and air conditioned with a lovely little patio area outside where I ate my meals. Nilda is a wonderful cook and the food was plentiful.
Playa Ancon, just 15 mins away is definitely worth a visit and the Plaza Major come alive at night to the sound of the salsa band.
I would highly recommend this casa and this lovely colonial town as part of your visit to Cuba.
