My review: This was everything we could have hoped for from our time in Trinidad. We arrived early and were met by a bicycle taxi, which had been booked by the owners - economical and fun way of getting to and from the Viazul station to the centre. Cira and Felix were waiting for us with a welcome hug and refreshments on the house, they were more than happy for us to check in early and had our room ready. We stayed in Room 1 as we had requested, which was just as we had hoped. The private entrance to this accommodation and the roof terrace with bar and views of the city was what made this casa so warm and inviting. We had our own little hideaway for 4 nights - you feel truly part of a Cuban family, whilst still getting total privacy. All hands are on deck to please and provide everything you could ask for; laundry, bicycle hire, taxis, recommendations, cocktails, you name it! The only thing lacking here is water pressure in the shower, but to be honest we didn't mind that, Trinidad is about going out and grabbing as many experiences as you can – it was the people (and their dogs) that made this what it was.
The breakfast and dinners were great, with one of us being vegetarian they made every effort to create satisfying and plentiful dishes that were never bland – some of the best home cooked food we had across Cuba. The cake/banana bread at breakfast was something we only had with them, and the same goes for the caramel pudding at dinner - delicious. Authentic and colourful just like the owners, Casa Tolledo did not fail at delivering the Trinidadian experience we were hoping for. Just remember though, in Trinidad if things don't go quite to plan, brush it off and move on...there's so much to see so just go with it! Trinidad is a very lively, frantic and tourist orientated town and this casa definitely fit within that mindframe, which worked perfectly for our trip. The balcony and private room meant that despite often whirlwind, unpredictable days, we felt very safe here and had amble privacy when we needed it. And lastly – we didn't get to write on their wall but we were treated to small gifts when we left, which just goes to show how appreciative they were of having us to stay.
How was your room?: Very nice and private.
How was the food they offer?: Excellent

My review: I stayed here in December 2011 for 3 weeks for my marriage and again in February 2012 for 2 weeks. As most cubans, Círa and Félix are nice people, who will take good care of you. Their upstairs room with roof terras and bar is all really nice an cozy. Good food too. Cira had a lovely surprise for our wedding night. A big heart on the bed made out of rosebuds. Really romantic. You will have the keys, so that you can come and go when you like.
