Casa Marino San José
My review: Marino is a very nice person, but he should pay attention on the cleanliness. The room was very dirty, full of dust as well as the bathroom, we had reserved at three nights and we stayed only one night.
It's a pity because the house is very well situated in 5 minutes on foot by the historic center.

Casa Marino
My review: Marino is a gentleman. He is a very nice and laidback guy who will help you out. He speaks perfect English and has a lovely family. Unfortunately I could not stay for his son's birthday as I had to continue on my journey round the Sierra Maestra but the time I had in Santiago was fantastic. Comfortable casa with excellent views and excellent breakfast. Marino also helped me plan the next stage of my bicycle journey and put me in touch with people in B Maso. Honestly, can't recommend enough. Excellent.
How was your room?: Perfect, aircon, bathroom and bed.
How was the food they offer?: Great.

I would like to recommend Casa Marino, just a 5 minute walk from Parque Cespedes or Plaza Delores, at Rey Pelayo No. 112, between Reloj and Clarin. The house has a on its own room on the roof, with a great view of the city, A/C and fridge. The owner is an English professor at the university, and you can arrange one-on-one Spanish lessons with him. Great guy! |
