Hostal La Campiña
My review: Great casa with great people!
We stayed here 4 nights which were excellent. From the casa we visited the center of remedios, las brujas, Santa Maria and more. Eduardo, who is very friendly and speaks excellent English, helped us discover the area.
The breakfast is very good and the rooms are very clean.
There is a roof terrace, the shower has hot water, the airco works and the toilets have seats (uncommon in Cuba).
I highly recommend this casa!!
How was your room?: Excellent
How was the food they offer?: Excellent
Other services they offer: Car park, taxi service, casa-for-the-next-night service, magic show and more!

Hostel La Campina
My review: I enquired about a place to stay several months before my stay in Remedios. VERY sneakily, after emailing Alicia from the Casa (through cuba junky) she said that she didn't have any availability but the 'adjoining casa' did, I asked for the details but she told me that she has booked it for us. I checked a few weeks prior to our trip, and she once again confirmed. YET on arrival to Remedios it took an hour for her to 'find her friend' and we ended up in an illegal casa, someone's flat. Now - it's not this that we opposed to, the people in the flat were very friendly and accommodating. It's the fact that when we went to collect the key from Alicia after they'd shown us to our room, like we were told to do, she wouldn't give it to us and KEPT saying 'come back later'..so when we did come back later, desperate to go to bed and very tired, there was no answer at the Hostel la Campina for 4 HOURS. Me and my younger sister had to sit on the street waiting for them to arrive in the early hours of the morning it was terrifying and ultimately dishonest and cruel of them. They should not treat people like that, even if they think that tourists can afford it - because we were on a very limited budget and had no more money to pay for somewhere else. Very let down, every single other Casa we stayed during our trip was great.
