Casa Tania Camaguey

Tania and her family offer a friendly and casual casa particular that includes an independent apartment with a large air-conditioned room with colour TV, mini bar/refrigerator. Also in the main house, they offer a second room with air-conditioner, bathroom and refrigerator. In the courtyard visitors will enjoy a beautifuly landscaped terrace and backyard that includes a small swimming pool to cool off on hot sunny days. The hostsof this casa particular offer delicious breakfasts, lunch, and dinners professionaly cooked to order. Laundry service is available for their guests. The entire Casa and property are meticulously cleaned every day. The casa is located in a quiet neighborhood with a beautiful park and basic shopping close by and within walking distance. Tania and her son speak basic english wich is helpful.

Casa Tania

My review: My son and I stayed three nights in this particular. The room had two beds, air conditioning a private bath and a fan. The room was in a small casita behind the main house; very private and quiet. The garden had lots of sitting room and we enjoyed Tania and her family each evening getting to know each other. The family is well educated and Tania speaks better English than I spoke Spanish, she was very kind. The food was good and the company even better. She made taxi arrangements so we could go to the beach and our next leg to Trinidad. The taxi driver even returned her keys my son had forgotten to return on our arrival in Trinidad. Tanie provided recommendations and advice on local sights. This is one of my favorite Cuban cities in large part due to Tania's hospitality. Thank you Tania and family. How was your room?: The room was spacious and clean.
How was the food they offer?: The food was good and generous.
Other services they offer: Taxi arrangements and a range of other things, one has but to ask.

My review: We suggest you do not book this casa. On arrival we were informed that our room had been let to someone else! There was no doubt about our booking. We booked by email, our booking was confirmed by email and, as requested, we re- confirmed the day before.

I have stayed in Casa Tania at least 18 times and have never had any issues regarding reservations or any other issues for that matter. On my last visit to Cuba I was asked by Tania to assist her in clearing her reputation with regard to Petra's review on your website.
It is true that Petra had a confirmed reservation for Mar.11 and did confirm it the day before. What Petra doesn't realize is that Tania was waiting for her with a vacancy for 2 days as Tania had no other clients at this time.
What likely happened and happens many times in Cuba, is that somebody claiming to be Tania's family or representative intercepted her on arrival and advised her that the Casa was occupied. She would then be taken to an alternate casa and a finders fee or commission is paid to this person.
I have written to Petra via Trip advisor but received no response.

My review: Beautiful, clean, comfortable casa. 2 wonderful, air conditioned rooms. Fantastic breakfast and gracious hostess. I highly recommend this house!
