Casa Evelio y Isel

My review: This casa was the best one I stayed in during my entire trip in Cuba. Both Evelio and Isel are great and welcoming people, and they make you feel very good in their wonderful house. Matanzas is also a very interesting city, and not crowded of tourists as the other main destinations in Cuba. Evelio speaks a bit English as well, which is not very common around in this country.

How was your room?: I had a big and clean room, and both toilet and shower were perfectly functioning.

How was the food they offer?: I had my best breakfastes in this casa, and the dinners were very nice as well!

Casa Elio y Isel

This is definitely the best casa particular we've been to, and we've travelled all over Cuba. The house is impeccably clean, the rooms are spacious and have been professionally renovated and nicely furnished. The food is... Well, let's just say the lady of the house should have her own cooking show. The portions are humongous, too! But you should not visit because the house is beautiful - visit because of the hosts. They are both very warm people, quick to give you excellent advice, and what is very important they do not treat you like a wallet - they treat you like a family member, which means their advice will help you avoid hustlers on the street (or anywhere for that matter), visit the best places in town and see everything that needs to be seen. We are absolutely going to go back when we return to Cuba!
