Casa Leonel y Amarilis
My review: The best place in viñales to stay. Leonel and Amarilis are wonderful people, i realy enjoy my time in viñales, they treat me like part of their family. The house and the room are very clean and cozy. Also they always can help you with wathever you need. If you want, they can organize tour for you or just ask for advice to them and they will recommend the best place to visit. Definitely the best choose in all viñales.
How was the food they offer?: Amarilis food is delicious. Just as for her what you want, and she will cook it for you.
Other comments: Dont leave without try Amarilis`s mojito.

Casa Leonel y Amarilis
My review: The room was great. It was on the roof with a patio overlooking the valley. The views are stunning. The room had a fridge stocked with water and beer and a bathroom with shower.
The best thing about this casa is the cooking! I had fish for lunch and lobster for dinner! The breakfast was really good with lots of fresh fruit. Leonel and Amarilis are great hosts. They don't speak a lot of English, but there son does.
Leonel is really helpful when it comes to arranging activities in Vinales and his son guided me to the salsa club in the evening.

How was your room?: Great! Very clean with a bathroom and shower. I appreciated the fridge full of beer and bottled water.
How was the food they offer?: One of the highlights! I recommend ordering meals here.
Other services they offer: They arranged a horse back tour through the valley and the next day they found a taxi driver for me to take me to the sites I was interested in. They were always helpful.

My review: Hi Everyone,
My wife and I are Australians who travelled to Cuba in December 2010 for three weeks and had a great time. We stayed in casas particulares most of the time and it was a very rewarding way to see Cuba. We stayed for five days in Vinales which is a must do.
If you are heading down that way, I can highly recommend Casa Leonel & Amarilis. Leonel & Amarilis are two of the loveliest people you could wish to meet and went out of their way to make sure we had a great stay. They have a cute little apartment above their house which they rent out and it is very comfortable. Amarilis makes amazing mojitos and is a great cook!
Leonel and Amarilis are school teachers by trade. The thing for these guys is, like many Cubans, they don't have access to internet so people can't find them that way and also, they're not the type to jump people getting off tourist buses. The main way they get guests is through referrals from a couple of casas in Havana.
I explained to Leonel and Amarilis how important the internet was for sourcing guests but it isn't an option for them so I have set up a website for them
You won't be able to contact them through the website but it does have their phone number (+53 82 696 748 ), a map and some photos. Neither of them speak English and my wife and I spoke only very basic Spanish but communication was not an issue.
If you are heading to Vinales, I would highly recommend Leonel & Amarilis's casa. The best way to contact them is to either ring them directly, have someone in Havana ring them when you are there or just turn up to their casa in Vinales. If they can't accommodate you, they will be able to take you to a number of casa's nearby where you'll be comfortable.
If you make it there, please tell them Craig & Amelia from Australia who stayed with them in December said hi!
