Casa Carlos Sotolongo
My review: This Casa has wonderful character and atmosphere and the hosts are lovely. The main room is cavernous and quirkily decorated with antique furniture, radios and religious artefacts; the bedroom we stayed in was simple, elegant and airy and opened onto the patio. The patio was something else and we could have happily spent our entire stay in Trinidad there, sitting on the rocking chairs, relaxing in peace and cool shade among banana trees, birdsong and colourful lizards! You would never guess sitting there that you are right in the centre of a busy tourist town, and you are - it's right on Plaza Mayor and all the main sights of Trinidad, plus the Casa de la Trova, are a stone's throw away. Breakfast was good, bathroom was fine.
Casa specifics: Quiet, Fantastic hosts, Elegant, Comfortable, Colonial, Roomy, Romantic, Beautiful, Safe, Garden, Patio
Amenities: Airconditioning, Private bathroom, Breakfast service, Bathroom with shower
How was your room?: Cool, colonial, sparely but elegantly furnished
How was the food they offer?: Breakfast: good, lots of fresh fruit and eggs

Casa Carlos Sotolongo Trinidad
My review: A wonderful stay! I will definitely be returning. We had a nice room with two beds and a private bathroom. Next to our room were steps to a rooftop terrace where we could listen to the music coming from the Casa La Musica. The price was very reasonable and the food was incredible. We were cooked the most amazing breakfast and dinners. You don't need to go out to any restaurants since this is the best food in town. The location is also great, right on Plaza Mayor and close to the fun Casa La Musica.
Casa specifics: Quiet, Fantastic hosts, Elegant, Comfortable, Cozy, Hidden gem, Roomy, Romantic, Charming, Safe, Garden, Pets in the house, Patio
Amenities: Private bathroom, Garden, Breakfast service, Dinner service, Extra bed available, Bathroom with shower
How was your room?: Big enough for two people. It also had a fan which was handy in the heat.
How was the food they offer?: INCREDIBLE!!!

Casa Carlos Sotolongo
My review: The casa, built in traditional colonial style, is situated right of the main square (Plaza Mayor). Despite this and the closeness to several sources of music (restaurants, Casa de la Trova etc) the casa is quiet, especially once you close the door to the room. The rooms face a lush and beautiful patio/garden - in one corner there is furniture (and electric light) for one to read or otherwise relax.
Casa specifics: Quiet, Comfortable, Colonial, Roomy, Beautiful, Safe, Garden, Pets in the house
Amenities: Private bathroom, Garden, Ceiling fan, Breakfast service, Dinner service, Bathroom with shower
How was your room?: The room was very spacious and fitted with two beds on stilts (the size being somewhere between a single and a double bed), a chest of drawers with mirror and a wooden couch. Blankets available for chilly nights. Private bathroom with electrically heated shower.
How was the food they offer?: The food served for breakfast as well as dinner was good, without being extraordinary (one possible exception being the breakfast juice that at least the first two mornings did not seem to be made from fresh fruit). Portions were copious.

Hostal Casa Carlos Sotolongo
My review: This casa in Trinidad had to be the best on one all the city. You are staying right in the centre of town, where it is walking streets only (if you have a car, don't worry you can park it at a neighbours place for a small fee). Right in front of the casa is Plaza Mayor. The area is really beautiful. The casa itself is one of the original colonial houses, and the family that owns it are direct descendants. They welcomed us very warmly, and staying with them was a pleasure. The room was huge!! The food was good, and they were wonderful hosts. I would stay here again if I were to go back to Trinidad. In addition to the room, there was a gorgeous garden patio you could sit at and relax, take in the music of the street bands, read, etc. This was a very relaxing and enjoyable pla! ce to stay.
Casa specifics: Quiet, Fantastic hosts, Elegant, Comfortable, Colonial, Hidden gem, Roomy, Romantic, Beautiful, Safe, Garden, Patio
Amenities: Parking service, Airconditioning, Private bathroom, Garden, Breakfast service, Dinner service, Queensize bed, Extra bed available, Bathroom with shower
How was your room?: The room was gigantic. With 2 queen size beds. It had huge doors & windows you could leave open towards the garden. Attached was a private bathroom with sink, shower & toilet. It was very clean and comfortable.
How was the food they offer?: The food was good. Lots of variety. They made sure you had enough to eat and some!
