Hostal Rene y Mary

My review: Beside the irritations at our arrival we had a very good time there! Unfortunately the hosts don´t speak English and our Spanish is very bad as well, so it was a bit complicated to communicate. Nevertheless, it worked! Especially we enjoyed to sit on the terasse and read.

How was your room?: We had a hole house with livingroom, 2 bedrooms, bathroom and kitchen - very clean and comfortable. For three days we felt at home.
How was the food they offer?: Very delicious, esp. at the 24th December - we got the traditional Christmas Dinner!

Review

In the month of January visit Trinidad and had the good fortune of staying at this hostel that was recommended to me by friends who had been before and I want to express my pleasant stay in this hostel as my experience there was wonderful across the broad sense of the word. Rene and Mary made me feel like one more of the family. The service is super great gourmet cuisine, everything is delicious. Rene and Mary give you all the info you need. So if you have the opportunity to visit this enchanted city of Trinidad do not miss the opportunity to live the same experience as I lived in Hostel Rene and Mary, I recommend 1000%.

How was your room?: Extremadamende clean and cozy, with all the comforts you need.
How was the food they offer?: The most delicious food you can find in Trinidad you can have in this incomparable place.
Other services they offer: I also had the opportunity to take salsa classes in the beautiful colonial patio of the house. And if you love nature they can suggest you an unforgettable ride through the Lomas del Escambray.
Other comments: If ever in your plans is to visit the legendary city of Trinidad do not miss the opportunity to stay in the Hostel Rene and Mary.

I had a great time at this house. The hosts are very fun people, attentive, and friendly.

How was your room?: My room was very big, and clean. I love how the room is completely separated from the house. I practically stayed in a house all by myself. It was peaceful, and I could be out all night!
How was the food they offer?: The offer everything. From chicken to seafood, to beans, salads, pastas, and every plate was delicious.
Other services they offer: They offered me a tour around the mountains on horses which was beautiful. They also washed my clothes, and even made cocktail drinks like mojitos.
Other comments: I love this house, I'd recommend it to anybody. I am actually planning another trip to Cuba, and definately going back to stay at Hostal Mary y Rene.

Hostal Rene y Mary was an excellent host during my stay - the best of Cuba. I am a frequent traveler to the island, and everytime I go to Trinidad I stay at this house. Mary and family have been runing the business for over ten years, and they truly made me feel like home. The food is delicious, fresh, and affordable. My room was clean at all times, and they even offer laundry services. I strongly recommend this house!!

Hostal Rene y Mary

I fell in love with this house, and its hosts. They made me feel at home. The house is beautiful. It has a colonial architecture, and a large patio with a lot of plants, and statuettes. It even has a pool!! Which I had never seen in any other hostel. I had a comfertable stay, and can truly say that at this house I spent my best, and most memorable time so far in Cuba. I strongly recommend it!

How was your room?: My room was great. It was extremely comfortable. It was spotless clean, and offered complete privacy. The room was located seperately from the main house and thus, I was never disturbed.
How was the food they offer?: The food was delicious. They offered me a varied menu that included cuban food, seafood, fruits, vegetables, among other stuff. All at accessible prices, very cheap. The food was always fresh. Once I ordered the house specialty cream-soup, and was blown away. This cream is exquisite, I recommend that you order it during your stay.
Other services they offer: The house offered me a tour through the mountains in the outskirts of the city. We visited a beautiful waterfall, and had a great time.
Other comments: Nothing much to say, but that I strongly recommend this hostel, it is the best in Trinidad.
