I would like to recommend this excellent casa. I stayed there for 7 nights. The family is really friendly; she cooks amazing food and there is a lot of it; and the casa is in a very good location. The room is just of the living room, which means you get a real chance to get to know the family and see the life going on inside the Cuban houses. Also, Nora, the owner, is much liked and well connected in the local community - if you need advice about anything or directions to whatever activities/ resources, she'll probably know someone who can help you out.

Tel: 53 - 041 - 99 23 43 - this is the
neighbours phone, ask for Alexander or Maritza as the
neighbours may try to rent to you instead
This
is a great house to stay in run by a young family couple
Alexander and his wife Anayancy. He and his mother in-law
Maritza are passioante and wonderful cooks. The room
is great - one double and one single bed so can sleep
up to three, plenty of space and your own private courtyard
too, with a window looking out onto it. Private on-suite
bathroom aswell. This is an old colonial house 50 metres
from the Plaza Mayor so you are right in the heart of
the town, great for going out, or getting a taxi to
the beach in the morning. I have such a good time with
this family, they welcome you like it is your home,
will sit and talk about things for a long as you have,
but also understand your need for a quiet time and privacy
too. They are warm hearted honest Cuban people who genuinely
enjoy having you in their home, rather than just seeing
you as a paycheck, which can happen too, especially
in a town like Trinidad which has some 300 casas. Please
say hello to them from Emma in London.>

A
very friendly couple in a beautiful Colonial house with plenty
of outdoor areas to sit and read. I have never been served
so much food. The meals were delicious and therefore we spent
most evenings eating at the casa. Homemade soup, fruit salad,
meat, rice, chips, salad & dessert. The rooms are on-suite
and very clean. We were very well looked after and sad to
leave. They also arranged our transport back to Havana.

I
like to take the oppurtunity of recommanding a casa I stayed
in, in Trinidad. This casa was very special to me because
of the family-feeling we got, the excellent cooking (best
I had in Cuba), the good information that was given by the
owner, in excellent English, about the area- and daily information
(about buses, shops, directions, taxis) and for the very good
location in the middle of the Center of Trinidad.
I really hope I can, by this way, promote their casa, to other
travellers.
I really hope so.
I have a picture I can send you, please let me know if you
need it.
